Reset On Router - Update Firmware

Apr 16, 2010

I did a reset on the router and updated the firmware. Then I changed the security settings from WEP to WPA. I repositioned the router and tried G mode only. Nothing works. It connects when it wants and the bars go up and down when I sit in the same spot in my house. I find it hard to believe that it's hardware related. Apple needs to work OT to get a patch in the works. Their little post on how to fix it has no relevance to my router or issues with my wifi. I am so close to returning my iPad and getting my $641 back. Or hopefully the 3G models will be out within my 14 day return policy so I can exchange it.

Strange FIOS Router Wifi - SSID Router

Aug 4, 2010

On bringing our new iPad to my daughter's place for a visit, I set it up to connect to her FIOS-based router. This took some time to do, mainly because there was another network in her apartment building using her name and both of us kept putting the password to that one. Finally, I noticed that there was another one in the list which just happened to share her router's SSID Things processed normally, I think, after that. It connected, strangely not automatically taking over for the 3G which was in use at the time, but did take over; iPad displayed, bars displayed, etc., etc. No other messages were displayed at that point but, frankly, I can't recall if I tried any net work, i.e., surfing or attachments, right then Subsequently, we simply get the "No connection to the internet ..." messages or their equivalents whenever we try to use wifi. 3G continues good, wifi continues good on her little Samsung netbook (on which I'm typing this, and trying to remember that I'll have to clean all of my fingerprint smudges off of her screen before she gets back from work ... new habits, new habits ...).

Moving Wifi Router - Linksys Router

Apr 6, 2010

Was helping a friend with his Wifi and iPad... I used a wifi scanner on my iPhone (WifiTrack) to detect all of the local wifi routers and discovered that there were at least three linksys routers in his neighborhood all running on the same channel!!! After moving his wifi router to a unique channel (I used 4) all of his wifi issues went away. We also moved his cordless phone as far away from the router as possible.

Download Throughput Varies From Router To Router

Apr 6, 2010

I posted in the other mega post about wifi issues, but that was starting to become too large a mix of problems.I wanted to provide a more specific description of the problems I've been experiencing regarding download speeds over wifi.My roommate and I both have the 16GB iPad. At home, on our DSL line, we've noticed that the overall download speed experienced on the iPad is just about half of what we're getting on our iMac/MBP. This is observable on both Linksys routers we have tested at home. The WRT-54GL running 1.27 tomato firmware, and the WRT610N running 2.00.00 B05 firmware. On both routers, we've tested every permutation of wireless radio mixes on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz where applicable. On the other hand, we've also tried our iPads on a cable internet service with a D-link DIR825 wireless router, and found that the wifi download bandwidth matches that of wireless MBPs on the network. So it's definitely not a hardware limitation on the iPad itself.

Adding A Router To My Verizon Router

Sep 14, 2010

Does anyone know if you can add a second router to a verizon router? I'm fairly certain that if you have verizon fios you have to use their supplied router for the service. But no matter what I do my ipad will not stay connected to it. I'm sure apple will eventually fix this but in the meantime I wanted to add an airport extreme ($99) to my verizon router to see if that allows the iPad to stay connected. I'm pretty sure this is possible but wanted to see if anyone has done this themselves with success.Mac OS X (10.5.1)

Doesn't Come Back After Reset

Oct 1, 2010

My iPad won't come back after a reset unless I plug it into a power supply or computer. I have found that after using the iPad for a long time or adding/removing a lot of apps via iTunes, I need to reset the iPad for it to remain stable. However, when I do a reset (Home & Sleep/Wake buttons together) I have to plug it into either a charger or computer for it to come back. I have waited up to a half an hour for the Apple icon to appear and it just doesn't until I plug it in.

Any Way To Reset Back To IOS 4 From 5.1.1 Update?

Jun 18, 2012

I just updated my ipad 2 last week to ios 5.1.1 from the original firmware on my ipad 2. Now having wifi connection that is intermittent. I am able to connect to my wifi and it shows a strong signal, but will stall every few min or in apps that require internet (Netflix, Facetime, etc.)

My wifi was great before the update. Is there anyway to go back to ios 4. I am not very handy with computers (I am a grandmother) but is there an easy way to go back to ios 4 or will the apple store be able to do it for me. I tried resetting my ipad, but it just erases all my data and still leaves me with ios 5.1.1.

Unable To Reset Back To Factory Setting

Jun 7, 2010

Two days ago, I turned on my iPad to play a little GodFinger. I found that the "Connect to laptop" starting screen was on. I figured this was some way Apple had of forcing customers to take an update for security reasons or some such. Imagine when I found out that this was a spontaneous hard factory reset.I have to take a sync from 6 weeks ago and reset from there. I'm furious.I cannot believe that I'm alone with this symptom. Has anyone else suffered this?

How I Can Reset The Location Back For The Apps Store ?

Apr 14, 2010

Does anybody know how I can reset the country location for the Apps store on iPad? I have several iTunes accounts for the different countries that I spend long assignments in. Whilst overseas, after opening the App Store application on my iPad, I inadvertently logged into a non-US iTunes account and got the error message "Cannot connect to the App Store. The App store is not supported in this country". The App Store application quits immediately after that.I have tried going to Settings and in the App Store settings, signed out of that account with the view to signing into my US iTunes account.
