I want to know all the steps necessary to erase all my personal information. Here are some pain points I had in my initial tries:
1. I cannot reset in iPad settings.... freezes
2. Resetting via iTunes is making me upgrade to iOS 8 and I am avoiding it so if the buyer wants to jailbreak.
I did a reset using the "all settings" option and it seems to solve the weak wifi issue.

I have an iPad 3 with a 3G plan from network provider 3. The problem is that every time my data runs out and I top up, I have to reset network settings to get online. This, of course, means I lose all my saved wifi passwords ... a royal pain in the backside. Is there a quick solution to this within my current set up, or will I need to arrange a new form of data contract?

View 1 RepliesYesterday there was something wrong with my iPad so I decided to do a Reset All Content and Settings, I have a jailbreak so I can't restore. (I have no SHSH.) The whole night there was an Apple on the screen and I really want to use my iPad now. I really don't want to Restore, then I will lose my jailbreak. When I exit Recovery there stays an Apple and when I exit DFU the same thing happened. How can I use my iPad without Restore?

View 1 RepliesWe laid off an employee but don't have his passcode to reset the ipad to it's factory settings. Is there anyway I can do this? I tried following the directions I found:
If you dont know the passcode to go into the ipad and reset it, you simply need to connect the iPad to iTunes.
Connect your iPad to the USB port on your computer, open iTunes and on the left side of the panel will appear a category for Devices... select the iPad. The summary window will have the information on the iPad and below that the choice for Restore. Select Restore, and you will have to do some confirming usually, and the system will go to work restoring the iPad to the factory settings.
I never use my iPad and have decided to sell it. I was wondering what is the best way to reset it to the factory settings? Thru iTunes or just straight from the iPad itself?
