I have a problem with adding epub books to my iPad. Goodreader acts as the default ebook reader and iBooks doesn't list the book in its library. Goodreader can't open the books no matter which reading format I choose.I've tried to get info from both apps, but haven't found anything that help solve the problem.

Just trying to drag over some ePub books to my iPad and iTunes crashes everytime, even when just adding one book. I've restarted my computer and iTunes still crashes. Anyone else experience this?

I have the goodreader app everyone raves about but I can't figure out how to convert the epub books to pdf. Basically, I have moved the epub books to goodreader and it can't read them.
I put my epub books into Itunes and moved over to Ipad 2. When I try to read them on Ipad 2 I get error message saying "Book Format Error...format is not recognized, or is invalid." What can I do so I can read my epub books on Ipad 2.

I have a hard time syncronising with my PC and there is no backlight so I cant read in bed without a flashlight. specific way to strip the DRM from the Sony Epub books so that I can read them on my brand new IPAD? I called sony and after they verified my identity and every one of my purchases the customer service guy said that if I can find a way to put Adobe Digital Editing on the Ipad that would work. He stated that all Sony could say is that Sony might be working on an IPAD application.

I have a Barnes & Noble Nook e-reader and when I buy a book from the Barnes & Noble e-store, the books look great, nice margins on the side of the screen so its easier to read. But when I side load a book, it doesn't format it the same way. The text goes all the way to edge to edge of the screen. When you add your own eBook does it look as good as the ones you buy from the iBook store?
View 7 RepliesI tried to checkout a couple of books online from my local library. When I download them (using safari) I get an error saying that safari can't open the link. The library also offers a program called Overdrive to use for downloads, but it's also a media manager. I can't figure out how to get the ebook into iBooks, they stay in Overdrive.
View 9 RepliesI do I found you can import un-encrypted epub books in to the iPad via iTunes 'Add File to Library' they show up in the 'Books' section, previously 'Audiobooks'. Then just drag and drop to your iPad and they will appear on your iBook shelf. I only had two epub books so far that would not transfer over, iTunes said the files were unreadable. So I do not know if it was the formating. But the epub ebooks I have gotten from Baen, and the un-encrypted epub ebooks I have gotten Fictionwise have transfered over without any problems.

View 1 RepliesIn iBooks, I have several books and PDF files. When synchronizing with iTunes, books from the bookstore and PDFs are saved and transferred into iTunes. But I cannot do the same for manually added ePub books that I added using USB transfer (I think I used Downloader lite). Anyway, since I am using generally Ubuntu, I use the iTunes sharing folder from an app to copy stuff in my iPad from Ubuntu. Then I just open the app, select the file and do a "Open in..." to put the file in the proper native app.
I have three books that I got a long time ago, put them on my iPad using Ubuntu. My problem is that I cannot find the originals on my computer, and I would like to copy those 3 books in my iPhone. If only I could find my cd from where I rediscovered this books, that would solve my issue...
I've just discovered that I can download recently published books from my public library for free but at the moment I can only read them in Overdrive and i'd prefer to read them in iBooks. Does anyone know if there is a way to move them in to iBooks?

Converted them to ePub format, but every time I try uploading them to the iPad it crashes at the end of the sync.

I'm so glad Apple has allowed unrestricted epub books to sync with your ipad, it opens up a ton of classic books that people can read for free. I know I'm going to download a bunch of classics right after I get my iPad.

But I'm having trouble finding any information as to add books in kobo, I've used feed books to add one but do I need a file viewer to access my books on iPad then 'open with kobo'.? What apps access VAR folder? I'm hoping I can locate my ebooks on there and transfer them from folders (downloads to kobo/kobo to iBooks etc).

However when I sync these books to iBooks on my iPad they appear in random alphabetical order on the iBooks bookshelf. Is there any way of getting iTunes to sync the books/pdf's in alphabetical order when syncing?
