View 1 RepliesI tested this by opening a couple websites. I then went and opened iPhoto and some other applications and then played around with other stuff. After I played around with iPhoto for five minutes I then went to back I went back to my Safari and the pages didn't reload. By the way I just wrote this post with dictation is so amazing
View 3 RepliesI've read about the improvement to JavaScript performance, but has anyone heard anything about the performance regarding the number of pages that can be open/switched between without a reload? Also, I was wondering if it fared any better than the current iPad with the current iOS in regards to how much it'll scroll before getting into checkerboard pattern territory.
These two issues along with general page navigation speeds are the only major reasons that cause me to go back to my PC for web browsing. If they've been improved then that would go a long way toward making the iPad 2 a worthy upgrade for me.
Which would you choose - IPad Air or Mini Retina - if your job involved looking at share prices, studying stock charts, having multiple browser windows operating at the same time? And for entertainment, quite a bit of Youtube video viewing, bit of gaming, and occasional iTunes movie.
I will also have my laptop close by when I am at home, so based on all that which would you go with? I am tempted to go with the bigger screen but then I think of the compact nature of the mini, that it would be easier to travel with (I spend quite a bit of time working away in cafes as some are now equipped with broadband access for paying customers).
Incompatibility of Safari with most web pages which use scrolling windows and dialogue boxes. Scroll bar and handle not visible. example. Facebook. Yahoo mail. All work fine in IE browser.
View 9 RepliesWell, I've been reading the forum for a while now and I always saw people posting about how when you have one page open in safari and you open another page, it'll switch pages and load the second page and when you go back to the first page, safari will reload the page, however in my case, when I own multiple pages and click on one, they don't ever reload... They just act as if they're all open like a tab would.
Basically what I'm asking is, is it normal that when I have multiple pages open in safari, I can click on any of them and it'll go to that page without refreshing the page like it normally would?
I Work for a small private school that uses PDF ebooks in some of it's classes. The problem is, we have no way of loading the files on students iPads. They belong to individual student and we do not want to sync them with our computers. Is there s software produce that will load our files into iBooks or similar app so they can read them?

When I have multiple webpages open in Safari the iPad frequently reloads a page when switching back and forth. If one of the pages has an open data field when this reload occurs any information I've entered is lost.1 - Is there a way to prevent the program from automatically reloading when I switch from one webpage to another?2 - If there is no way now, may I anticipate any changes in the future?3 - If a change is possible will it be a change in the Safari program, or the iPad itself?
View 1 RepliesVery simple, but each time I switch back to another window in safari, it reloads the page. This is especially annoying if I've paused a video in the window. Anyone know why this happens and any way to stop it?
View 13 RepliesSo far, I love the iPad. However, my first complaint is hen I switch between web page panes. For instance, I am trying to fill out a form on one, but need to grab some info off another page. When i switch back, Safari automatically, reloads the page and clears any information I might have had filled out. This is very counter productive, not to mention, very annoying. Especially, if the page has a lot of pictures, etc.... Anyone having the same problem? Information :iPhone OS 3.1.3.
View 3 RepliesWith the power of the IPad Air why does it have to reload a previous screen when I have other tabs open? If I don't switch for a moment it's fine but stay to long and click back on the other tab it has to reload.
View 1 RepliesCan you copy from a web page viewed in Safari and then paste it in a Pages document (on the iPad)?
View 6 RepliesI need to open at least two Window at same time in my Ipad like watch movie and write Text at same time, but I cannot find any App for this. there is something for Jailbreak Ipad names Quasar, but My IPad is not Jailbreak, is there any other App to do this for me?

I would like to see Apple address the issue with Safari when multiple pages are open it has to reload pages when switching from one to the other, even if content has not changed. this is not necessarily just a memory issue that cannot be fixed. Other browser's behaviors with tabs, like Atomic Web Browser do not reload it's tabs as a user changes between them.

We have a new Ipad2 and cannot figure out how to close all the open windows in Safari. We thought we could just click on the x on the top, but nothing happens.
View 3 RepliesI was wondering if ipad 4 has picture in picture capability, considering it has the bigger screen and all. I think I saw 4k video player that can play multiple windows of video, but I have not seen a picture in picture video.
View 8 RepliesIm considering an iPad and would likely get the Apple Pages app. However, I dont have the wireless printer for direct printing and my regular PC is a Windows XP netbook
If I ever wanted to print from Pages (I don't really print much), I think the best option would be to export/email the Pages document as a PDF and email it to my XP netbook to print.
So my question is, would my Win XP netbook have any problems with the formatting/display and printing of the PDF files created and exported from pages - from simple text documents to more complex files with pictures and other symbols/graphics/charts etc?
I suppose I could also export as .doc and use Google Docs or Windows Live Skydrive Word. Exporting to PDF is a feature of a lot of graphical apps on iPad, would they likely all display fine as a PDF file?
I just to get some information regarding multitasking on ipad. My question is this: can you open, hide or minimize two windows at the same time just like what we can do with normal netbooks/laptops? What I mean is if you are using docstogo office, can you minimize both word documents so that you can view or read documents on one window while you do typing or editing on the other windows? Is it possible?
