Why iPad doesn't support safari with java and flash? I use mainly two sites that use java and flash to my job, what can i do?

Is there anyway for the iPad to support java? My schools wifi requires every connection to do a computer scan using java, of which doesn't work on the iPad. Is this possibld what so ever?

This is not a normal advertising pop up and the option is enabled in the Safari preferences.I am a printing engineer who has to use horrible HP laptops. View 24 RepliesI just bought my 83 year old dad an iPad... He loves it... He will use it mainly to read books and to peruse the web from his easy chair. I set him up with broadband and a wireless router about a year ago.. One other thing that would be very, very useful for my dad would be handy access to a good TV guide, something where he could just lean over, pick up his eye pad and click on a link to his tv listing... He uses Time Warner cable in Kansas City... On a desktop or laptop, when you go to the Time Warner KC site and click on "What's On", you get a nice listing which will scroll horizontally for time and vertically for channel list... However, when I try Safari on the iPad or Atomic Web (another browser I purchased), I get the horizontal time scroll just fine but there is NO VERTICAL scroll capability so you can only see about 20% of the available channel listings... That renders that pretty useless

View 12 RepliesThe versions of Java in Safari are different on the mac computers running Safari than the iPad. Any idea how to get a different version for the iPad since on the MACs it is done with Software update and you can not download versions for a MAC on the JAVA site?
