I'm waiting for the 3G iPad, and so I want to know from those lucky WiFi model owners now of you can add music/video content to the iPad manually through iTunes (e.g. drag and drop)?
The way it was for the first iPhone in 2007 was you could only sync playlists, etc.,and the ability to drag and drop content came later.

I've tried the directions in the iPad Users Guide; I've updated the iPad and iTunes but it will not allow me to manually sync my music. I don't want half my memory taken up with music but can't get it to allow me any other choice. No problem manually managing photos but not music.

iPad2 Peeps... why can't I move apps that downloaded to iTunes to my iPad2 manually? Do I have to "auto-sync"?I attach my iPad to two computers (work & home) so I turn off Auto-sync
View 4 RepliesI am having an issue with my iPad.Recently, I noticed that when plugging the cable into it, there is no indication of the device charging. The battery at the top of the screen remains as if there is no power getting to the device.iTunes doesn't recognize the device either (Not even in Recovery Mode)
HOWEVER, if I power the device all the way down and plug the cable in, the iPad shows the image of a battery with a lightning bolt on it. It will charge this way, but as soon as the device boots up, it quits.Anybody else have this issue before? Tested on Windows XP, Win7, and Snow Leopard.

View 1 RepliesiTunes on my MacBook Pro syncs my iPhone apps with my iPad and vice-versa. How do I prevent this and get iTunes to recognize these as separate devices? In fact, when I connected my iPad to my iTunes for the first time, iTunes seemed to think that it had synced with an iPad previously, which is not true.

View 4 RepliesI'm thinking about ordering an iPad and trying to decide which version (amount of storage) to get. If I get the 64GB, the backups may take a significant amount of disk space on my laptop. Where does iTunes store the device backups on OSX? Are they stored with the iTunes library or somewhere else? If I leave my device plugged to the power it will be charging, but very-very slowly, 1-2% per hour. Battery icon not show "charging". iTunes can't see the device too. I had try to put the device in "Recovery mode" and in DFU mode, but can't make a DFU, only "Recovery". BUT..But iTunes again not see my iPad
View 3 RepliesI recently installed the latest Itunes. Then I updated the IOS on my IPad to 5.1.1 Prior to doing all this I could plug my Ipad into my computer and it would always recognise it. Now Itunes fails to register that the IPad is there.

I decided to do a clean install back to factory settings. After this was done and I had loaded some of my go to apps I decided to sync it up. Now Itunes is now telling me it "cannot read the contents of the iPad" I've done the home/sleep reboot and Itunes still won't read it. At one point I was jailbroken, but wouldn't restoring to factory have erased the traces of that? I have the latest Itunes installed and the latest IOS on iPad.
