- I'm connected to the Internet (via Wifi, and i tried at home, at work, and via 3G - it's a 64GB 3G);
- I've followed the instructions on google's help pages (syncing via PUSH using the Exchange account), i googled a lot and found a bunch of people with the same problem, but all the threads were abandoned without a solution;
- I've got this puppy for 4 weeks, and it worked flowlessly untill 2 days ago when i did a restore (without backup so i could keep the iPad clean and start from scratch - everyone likes to mess around the first few days with software and so on...)
- Problem happens for at least 12h (maybe too long for a server problem?)
- English is NOT my first language.
So i tried this: sent a mail from my work exchange account to my gmail's account. The moment i see the mail on the web app, i see the "checking for mail" message on the ipad, that takes about 30 to 45 seconds to disappear. If i click "Mark as read" on the web, same message appears on the iPad, and so on.
I've deleted all the settings a couple of times, restarted about 10 times, and nothing. Still stuck with this.
The question is: it didn't took so long the first time i installed these settings! If i manualy check mail, it also takes a lot in order for effectively check the mail.
This kind of sucks. Do i need to restore AGAIN? This thing takes ages to copy the 30GB of multimedia i have.
I have three email accounts that I access with my iPad via Wi-Fi. When I go to the inbox and have it check for new mail, the 'checking for mail' just spins and spins and no new mail is actually downloaded. It has not worked since I updated to iOS 4.2 yesterday.
Anybody have a clue as to the problem and how to fix it?
When I open the mail app and go into "all inboxes" the "checking for mail" wheel and status appear at the bottom.† It never stops and I am wondering if that's the reason why the mail app freezes (letters appear slowly, can't open anything) and why my battery drains so quickly.† †
I've read a lot of discussion about quitting the app, rebooting the machine, etc - but none of that has worked.†
I'm having strange problem with my new iPad. I'm trying to set up email account with yahoo. It seems to verify my email address correctly however my emails never get populated. When I click on mail I just get the circle status bar in lower left corner and it says checking for mail... But nothing ever shows up in list. My settings appear to be correct and my account was successfully verified but still I'm not seeing any of my emails. I have my push settings set to manual and there's a blue on button. What am I doing wrong?
just got an ipad and finished setting up all the email accounts, however i notice something different from my experiences with iPhone. When I open Mail it only checks the account for new mail that i'm currently in, if I want to check another account I have to go back out and go into the Inbox of the other account. For example, if i'm on Gmail when i open Mail, I will only be able to check new mail in Gmail and not in my other accounts.
I'm assuming there is a way to check my '@me.com' email from my desktop (a windows computer if it makes a difference), but could someone please tell me how to do it?Or if there's no way at all, direct me to the nearest wall so i can hit my head on it.
In the last 3 or 4 weeks when I check my email accounts on my IPad I have 15 or 20 emails that say "no sender" and "message has no content". How can I clean this up and stop it from happening every day. I don't get these messages when checking mail on the IMac.
Had my iPad for 6 weeks, have several accounts in mail. Sometimes mail freezes and does nothing. Mostly happens when I select multiple messages to delete. Only solution is to turn off and on again. If I quit mail and go back it resumes in the same place. It's annoying, have the same accounts on my Mac Mini and iPhone and they work just fine .†
I've turned Fetch New Data to Manual. I've also gone to Advanced and made sure that each separate email account is set to Manual and have also turned off Push. However, Mail keeps checking and downloading new emails without me even opening the application. This is kind of annoying and i can't understand why it does this. does anyone have any advice? am i missing a setting that needs to switched on or off?
So my job has wifi that's unsecured. When I go to check my email I get an error message that the email client can't connect to the server. Is this something apple built in or can I do so something to fix it?
Whenever I enter the iPad Mail app, it automatically downloads my messages even though I have all my fetch settings set to "manual". Is there a way to disable this? I only want to fetch messages when I say so. For example, in Mac OS Mail, I check my email manually -- when I first launch the Mac OS Mail app, nothing
Yesterday I synced my gmail and my official accounts. Everything went fine but outlook mails are not available. It is synced correctly as it displays correct folders in my exchange. However emails are not pushed. Gmails worked fine
I reformatted my iPad. I also in stalled iOS eight. Now every time I checked mail I get hundreds of formerly trashed messages from before I reformatted. I now have over a thousand. Is there anyway to keep this from happening and get rid of those messages.
I am in the sent page of the e-mail screen and it is locked up. Nothing moves me off the highlighted message. The "last updated" time at the bottom of the screen is accurate. I've turned the power off and on to no avail All other functions of the I-pad are working correctly. This seemed to occur after I tried to add contact from the highlighted message.I'm using gmail.
I brought a 64Gb IP2 in the US and they set it up for my email account in the store. It's wi-fi only, not 3G (hope that is the right term to use) as I have Iphone4 and didn't see the point of carrying the IP2 around for i'net.Anyway, it worked fine in my house in the UK off my home router (I think it asked me for the password etc for the router when I 1st used it), made a noise when new mail arrived (at least that's what I think it was) - all was well.I work in Oman, so have brought it with me and we have wi-fi in the office and my Ipad picks up internet, yahoo, google, the UK newspapers etc etc and my yahoo mail (but only via the yahoo.com site) + all other i'net sites without problem.However, I tried to send something via pages to my work email account, just experimenting with the whole thing really, but nothing happens. No error message and non delivery.
So, I check my email in settings and also try to reset my mail account in mail, contacts, calendars & after trying to verify it, it comes back with an error message "apple.impa.mail.yahoo.com" is not responding. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the "incoming Mail Server" field.The primary server of the account is Yahoo!SMTP server and it's switched to on. The outgoing mail server is Yahoo!SMTP Server.This is now the limit of my Ipad logic trail . Can anybody help me set up my yahoo account so it works and also so I can send pages please?
On two iPads, mobileme mail gets stuck on 'sending'. It periodically will say that smtp.me.com failed. I've tried deleting the account to no avail. I can receive email and browse the internet no problem.Possibly related, I upgraded my router to a Time Capsule at about the same time this started happening, but I can't be sure it is the problem. I tried to send a video clip via e-mail from my i-pad.†It started to "hang".†I then tried to switch it off to reset, but the little circle in the center of the screen has now been going two days without switching off.†I cannot sync with my initial desktop as it packed up and I had to download a new version on the new laptop.†How do I get all the items I bought from the i-tune store again or does it mean I lost it forever?
I opened a odd attachment from iPad Mai. Now when I try to open mail all I can do is read the PDF that is full screen. PDF is not frozen. I can scroll throughout the pages I just can see or access any other mail function. I am visiting China for a month and now can't access Mail. Can't get to MobileMe account visa safari on iPad because I am automatically routed to a iPad set up page. Evidently Apple does not want you to access your MobileMe account fro iPad. I don't understand that.

Nothing I tap or touch will bring up and controls or options. The mail app is stuck displaying a PDF from an old message, which was copied to the bookshelf and viewed there (already). Can't seem to tap my way to close the doc in mail, and get on to new mail.
My iPad3 mail is stuck on an outgoing email screen. It won't let me cancel or send. I've shut it down, deleted the email account, and it still goes to that same screen when I try open the mail icon. How can I get rid of this?
My IPad is stuck on a page which heads 'welcome to mail' and lists various hosts for email e.g iCloud; google; yahoo etc.¬† the idea would be set up email accounts.¬† However I inadvertently pressed something and this screen came up but I cannot get rid of it and therefore can't even get back to my mail.¬† Every time I click on my mail icon (home) I get this same screen.¬†

I have two email accounts that I need to add to my Ipad.The first is a Gmail account which I had up and running in no time at all,quite easy to do actually. Unfortunately the same can't be said about my Lycos email account.I've tried several times to add my Lycos email account to my Ipad but with no success.I used the exact same method(Settings-Mail-Add Account)that I did when I added my Gmail account but like I said,no success.
I keep getting the same error message when I try to complete the process: "Cannot Get Mail-The username or password for pop.mail.lycos.com is incorrect."
This does not make any sense because I am entering the correct username and password. So having said all of that I was wondering if any other Lycos mail users out there have had the same problem in the past and how you fixed this problem? Or if anyone else knows how to rectify this issue? My Ipad is the 32g Wifi model.
