Lack Of Ability To View Multi-page Tiff - Any Idea ?
Oct 28, 2010
Does anyone have a solution to the lack of the ability to view multi-page tiffs in safari on the iPad? One of the main things that we use is an online database where all the information is stored as multi-page tiffs and I would love to be able to view them on my iPad.
We use Windows Fax Server at the office for incoming faxes. The ipad seems like it would be ideal to view these faxes but they are distributed as multi-page .tiff email attachements. I cannot figure out how to view the multi-page documents. I can only view the first page. Any suggestions?
I like very much The ipad, and i use IT everywere is possible:from browsing The web to writing emails, from playing games to listening to music. But there's a big problem:i can't read multi-page tiff that I use very much within my enterprise. I can only read The first page of these files, other pages seems to not exist.
I've made many tries:installing readdle docs and other applications didn't solve The problem (also these applications showed only The first page) and both mail application and gmail browser client show a question mark as attached file in preview, i can download this as image but still I can only see The first page. Did anybody managed to solve The problem? Google didn't...
When I used iPad or iPhone 3GS mail to check email, usually the tiff attachment cannot be viewed, however, iPhone 4 has no problem with the same email and attachment. Both iPhone are using iOS 4.1 and iPad 3.22. Is it the reason of that iPhone 4 has more memory? Will this problem be fixed in iOS 4.2!
It's been 10 months since the 3GS was released and we don't even have a date from AT&T as to when the feature/function that we were SOLD with our iPhones will be enabled. Meanwhile, many other countries across the world are enjoying their iPhones as Apple meant them to be enjoyed, and as we the consumers expect. If AT&T's service is capable of handling 3G iPads, there is no reason why it can't handle tethering our iPhones. Their network is far less taxed than Sprint or Verizon, and yet you can tether with those company's smart phones. I'm tired of waiting patiently for AT&T to come through. They were late with MMS and we're already seeing rumors of a new iPhone. I repeat, A NEW iPHONE when I didn't even get to use the features on the soon to be "old" model (3GS).
I've spent a fair share of time finding hi-res covers for all of my eBooks. I'm disappointed I can only view the small version of the artwork before it swoops by upon being opened. No option to admire the cover, only the first page.
I am new at this and have just bought the IPAD for my husband who is in chemo and radiation therapy and needs to pull his email from bed to keep busy. Alot of his emails have wave files that use quicken, when will this application be available for IPAD users or will it never be available?
I'm having the same issue opening the TIFF file on my I-pad. Unfortunately, being a multi page file, the email shows just the first page of it and the only thing that I can do is save the image. I have docstogo installed but can't think of how to open the file with it.
After searching eBay for a folio bookstand type of case (and refusing to give in to the official Apple case scalpers) I finally decided on this $16 one and thought I'd share... It's shipping from China so I won't get it for another 2 weeks or so.
I like the elastic moleskine-like cover and how the inside pocket doesn't cover up the ipad's bezel as much as some of the other eBay offerings.
It definitely won't be the last case I'll buy because I want to see what the future holds (I'm hoping for a black Macally Bookstand option soon) but in the meantime, this little eBay purchase will have to do.

A link to one of the color options in question.Sexy. The pleather doesn't smell horribly, and it looks really good up close. No missing or pulled stitching, which is always a pet peeve of mine. Shipped in a bubble envelope via Royal Mail, with no damage to the box whatsoever. It was marked as shipped on the 7th, arrived late yesterday (but I didn't get it until today due to campus mail systems), so I'd say shipping was pretty speedy. All clasps were working well, not difficult to open or reattach.Functionality and Aesthetics One of the reasons I chose this case (initially, the more expensive real leather one) was because it used a snap-clasp system for adjusting positions. I felt that this was the most secure non-magnet method of propping it up and using it on the go, as I plan to use my iPad for on the go editing of books and articles.
I have a university project of creating an electronic data and formulae book for iPad. I have started with a master view controller and have filled in the table with the chapters of the book. I would like to tap each chapter to push on to show the pages of the book and would like to use a page view controller here. I currently have a table view which pushes on to show an image i have inserted. Please could you explain or provide an example of how I can insert a page view controller after the table view so that i can tap on the table cells and be pushed on to a page view controller containing images of the pages of the book. I am new to XCode and apps..
This is a link to a Chinese Canadian newspaper. It's a scanned copy made available to the public. Needless to say, I was unable to view it with the latest iPad at a Best Buy.Is it safe to assume that this page cannot be viewed because it requires a flash plugin ?
I have alot of line art i would like to color using the ipad. I like to keep line art and color layers separate. I have Layers, SketchBook Pro, Art Studio, ect. apps. pogo sketch.the Sketchbook app has the ability under itunes to add files, but I cannot access them.
Layers is advertised as being able to export to layered PSD files, but the app seems to glitch. How do i transfer back and forth any layered art file:PSD, TIFF, or PDF? What am I missing to make the ipad a nice painting tablet?

One of my major gripes about the iPhone is that the Photos app resizes Large JPEGs losing all detail. There are third party apps that allow you to import large JEPGs and Tiff but the zoom and pan quality/speed is dreadful (at least on the iPhone 3G). Does the iPad allow import of such images and is the performance when zoomed in any good (particularly for large Tiff files)?

We receive all of our faxes digitally, which is awesome. We can't change our system to allow for PDF instead of TIFFIf you are on your PC.If you are trying to view your email on your iPad, the .tiff gets embeded in the email and only shows the first page.Which is usually a cover page. I have tried a few solutions:Save .TIFF from Mail client into Camera Roll. Import .TIFF into GoodReader Still only shows one page.Tried the same method in Dropbox. Is there ANY way to get a .TIFF multi-page document open on the iPad? App or otherwise?
Please feel free to Test our Clients webpage at url...When you Rotate the ipad3 Direction at the main page twice, you will see An unexpected Zoom in. The First results of our tests, we r think about some safari reasons or iOS5.1.1 patch changes.
I'm looking for a CAD type app that will allow a file import, Tiff, PDF or DWG files. This app is work related and we need to add lines and annotation to it then save the drawing to our server. Maybe the iCloud. The tools need to be simple to use with insertion of user defined objects/symbles and annotations. I have downloaded a number of apps and read about several others, I'm not able to find anything that meets our needs and is quick and simple to use.
I'm not an app developer, but I have an idea for a App.What are the legal steps to protect my idea before hiring an App developer? How it all works, I know how to copyright, but I'm not sure how it works in the App world.
I have an idea for an app that, if it existed, would probably make me buy the ipad and the app.I'm a finance person by trade and I constantly walk around with a binder that has all the reports and information I need to be able to answer questions. The binder is full of hard copy reports and its separated by dividers and always ordered in the same way month after month. I call it my current month report book. I have one, so do all the other people who do the same job, and other people have books just like it but each book has different information.
What I'm looking for is an app where I can PDF files and organize them in a directory so that I basically have the book in an Ipad.
I have been wondering if it was possible to take a case like the OtterBox Defender and build a reader for up to eight SD card slots within the inside back. A pass through connector would allow full functionality without blocking access to the memory. With the right program setup, it seems to me that a unit like this could provide toughbook type protection, while providing flexible memory configuration. You can add 4, 8, 16 GB cards as needed and can afford them. Maybe even 32 GB cards. So, you could have from a few GB to up to 128 GB or more. Not only that, cards would be swappable. The beauty of the design is that even if one or two of the cards got damaged because the case got damaged, it would limit the loss.
this is my first time using apple product, so i am not that familiar with it yet. So, now i have a problem with Mail. I would like to suggest a few minor changes to make this site more IPad friendly. First when a thread has multiple pages, I always have to zoom in to switch to the next page, the page numberings could be bigger for finger tapping or replace the last page button with a next page. The second issue I constantly have is tapping on a thread, I find myself often tapping on the OP name just below, a little more spacing would help or move the OP name beside the thread name. Just my 2 cents. Great site BTW.
