My daughters friend tried to use her ipad and exceeded the number of log in attempts and disabled the ipad. The message says ipad disabled connect to itunes. The problem is that we never connected it to itunes. She has over $100 of music and apps that I do not want to lose. What options do we have?
I quickly changed my password for my iPad and then forgot it shortly after. It is disabled and I know that I have to connect it to itunes to sort it out but on my laptop, and on two others, it doesn't connect to itunes and says 'not charging' on the iPad. It will charge when I connect it to my sisters macbook however the macbook says that it cannot connect because there is a passcode and to enter it on the iPad... but it is disabled.

havent used ipad in a couple years due to the fact ive been on deployment. tryed to enter passcode and it was wrong to the point where it asks to conect to itunes. when i connect it i get an error saying my ipad is locked and needs to be unlocked first.. so basically I have an expensive paper weight. any way to restore to factory default without connecting to computer or going into its settings?
"iPad is disabled" connect to iTunes. That's a message on my ipad's screen. I've never synced ipad to any computer as i don't have one, so I've used someone's laptop to connect ipad to itunes (i've downloaded itunes on it). When i did that, a message on hte computer's screen came up: "itunes could not connect to the ipad „ipad“ because it‘s locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on your ipad before it can be used with itunes.“
Then I followed this (see below) but only up to the sixth point, as it never allowed me to restore it, instead i waited for an hour for itunes to download something, that disapeared and nothing happened as soon as the download was over. :
„Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.
1.Disconnect all cables from your device. 2.Turn off your device. 3.Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on. 4.Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen. 5.iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. 6.Click OK, then restore the device'Â Â
My daughter forgot her passcode, and is subsequently locked out of her iPad. I found the KB article iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled which says to open iTunes and restore from backup. The problem is, when I open iTunes, the iPad Mini does not show up, therefore I can't restore from the previous backup. The iPad .screen says 'iPad is disabled connect to iTunes'.
I wonder if anyone else has experienced thisWhen I plug my iPad into my PC, iTunes always launches, even though I checked "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically".My iPod touch is better behaved
My nephew was playing with my ipad and put the wrong password in too many times. Now it's disabled and says to connect to itunes. I don't use itunes, so it's not backed up on there. I have a lot of stuff on my ipad and really don't want to loose everything. I've looked around online and can't find any answers that would allow me to get back in without loosing everything. Probably obvious...but I know the password.
My son has entered the incorrect passcode so many times, the iPad is disabled beyond the 1 min or 5 min....it states I must connect it to iTunes. The problem is, as soon as I connect to iTunes, I get a message stating "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter the passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes." The iPad does not allow me to enter anything. I have tried resetting the iPad a few times by restarting, still no change.
iPad disabled for no reason, can't fix. My iPad has shown "iPad is disabled connect to iTunes." I have done this and it says error. I don't know what to do from here and I need my iPad for homework tonight and school tomorrow.
I use my iPad to edit music on my Desktop by Syncing it with iTunes. But from last week onwards I am facing a very strange problem i.e. Every time I try to connect to iTunes from my iPad 2, I am prompted with a message stating ‘Cannot Connect to iTunes Store’. How can I fix this??
My son has locked his iPad mini (changed his pin so many times he's forgot it) to the point where it's says it's disabled. Tried a hard reset (power and home button), no luck. tried connecting to itunes, itunes does not pick it up. (Works with all my other devices). So tried the factory reset where you hold the home button until the itunes and cable shows on screen then connect to itunes. Still doesn't pick up the ipad at all.
now when I try the factory reset (revovery mode) again I can't even get the itunes and cable to show up again.
