ITunes Cannot Read Contents Of Device
May 13, 2011
I decided to do a clean install back to factory settings. After this was done and I had loaded some of my go to apps I decided to sync it up. Now Itunes is now telling me it "cannot read the contents of the iPad" I've done the home/sleep reboot and Itunes still won't read it. At one point I was jailbroken, but wouldn't restoring to factory have erased the traces of that? I have the latest Itunes installed and the latest IOS on iPad.

Error - ITunes Cannot Read The Contents Of The IPad
May 28, 2011
I've been preparing my iPad for my holiday coming this Sunday. I mostly use it for listening to my music. Anyway, while syncing up one of my playlists, iTunes crashed... and now, I get this error: "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPad."The only option I seem to have is "Restore". I really, REALLY don't want to restore the iPad, as there's no way in hell I'll get all of my music on there by tomorrow. I have around 80GB of music to put on the iPad, most of it having to be compressed for obvious reasons (which takes a long time).
The odd thing is, everything on the iPad itself seems to be working fine, including the latest songs. Unfortunately, the Apps were just about to get updated, and I was in the middle of configuring the Apps on iTunes... so a lot of them seem to want to be "Updated"... I have a feeling they're simply reinstalling themselves. They're taking a long time to do so, but they are working nonetheless.

Restored Factory Settings - ITunes Will Not Read IPad 2 Now
Aug 4, 2011
I bought Ipad 2 (16 GB), downloaded latest version of itunes and connected the ipad to my laptop a week ago. It worked fine, itunes detected it, I registered at app store (but didn't register the ipad yet). Today, I restored factory settings on Ipad 2 and tried to connect it to a different laptop (don't have access to the first laptop anymore). I again downloaded the new version of itunes and then connected it. Nothing is happening.
The ipad turns on for a second so I can see the image of white usb chord and itunes symbol. but itunes on my laptop doesn't read it. Since I restored factory settings, the Ipad now gives only that screen of white usb chord to be plugged in the itunes symbol whether it is connected to the laptop or not. I even gave the current laptop authorization from itunes ("authorize this computer"). I'm using Windows 7

Won't Connect To Pc Itunes / Can't Do Factory Restore
Jul 12, 2010
I jailbroke my ipad and it was working great, there was a app I had bought already that was on Itunes and I wanted to put it back on the ipad. I tried to restore my ipad first back to factory, but after the restore itunes will see it but says it cannot properly access ipad. I have done a factory restore several times but no good. this was on a pc.
I hooked it up to my mac and it did the restore and will sync stuff but that is not the itunes i use. When I hook it back up to my PC and try a factory restore again I get the same problem. I cannot properly connect to pc itunes it will do nothing.

ITunes Is Telling To Restore To Factory Settings?
Mar 14, 2012
I just updated iTunes today. I tried syncing my iPad2 (32GB) and I was told that iTunes does not recognize my iPad and that it needs to be restored to factory settings. I've tried plugging it in with the cable and syncing it wirelessly and it's not working. I've turned it on and off again and restarted it and tried different USB ports and nothings working. It does sync with my iPhone, but no luck with the iPad. I would hate to lose everything on my iPad. When I tried plugging in my iPad to my computer, the camera roll did show up on autoplay (windows vista) so it does recognize my iPad. .

Jun 4, 2014
My iPad was recently disabled and it told me that I needed to connect to the itunes store. I got it figured out but it says on my computer that if I restore my ipad it will erase everything and go back to its factory settings. I have never backed up my ipad and I do not want to loose all my photos, videos, etc. Is there any way that I can avoid everything being erased?

Application Did Not Recognize/pc Tried A Factory Restore
Jul 13, 2010
I jailbroke my ipad and all was working good, there was a app I had bought on my Itunes on my pc I wanted. When I hooked up the ipad to the pc it did not recognize it right...it saw an ipad but said there were problems. So, I tried a factory restore and when it was done with that I had the same problem. I did this several times. I have a mac also so I tried to do a factory restore on that and it worked, it could sync and everything. I then hooked it back up to the pc and tried the factory restore on it because all my stuff is on the pc but I get the same problem. No matter what it will not recognize the ipad properly so I can not sync anything from the pc-no mater how many times I do the factory restore.
