IPad2 Does Not Have A Button With Which To Restore "factory Defaults"?

May 30, 2012

I recognize that someone has posted an answer to this query onto the discussion board; unfortunately, my iPad2 does not have a button with which to restore "factory defaults". As a result, I do not understand the answer. Can someone provide a better, more detailed answer that I can follow?

Application Did Not Recognize/pc Tried A Factory Restore

Jul 13, 2010

I jailbroke my ipad and all was working good, there was a app I had bought on my Itunes on my pc I wanted. When I hooked up the ipad to the pc it did not recognize it right...it saw an ipad but said there were problems. So, I tried a factory restore and when it was done with that I had the same problem. I did this several times. I have a mac also so I tried to do a factory restore on that and it worked, it could sync and everything. I then hooked it back up to the pc and tried the factory restore on it because all my stuff is on the pc but I get the same problem. No matter what it will not recognize the ipad properly so I can not sync anything from the pc-no mater how many times I do the factory restore.

IPad :: Can't Update IOS After Factory Restore

Dec 4, 2014

I restored my 2010 iPad (model #A1219) to factory settings before preparing to pass on to child in the family. Now I can't update past iOS 5.1.1. It says it is up to date. I could have sworn it was at a higher level in the past. Am I wrong about this, or is there a way to update further?

ITunes Is Telling To Restore To Factory Settings?

Mar 14, 2012

I just updated iTunes today. I tried syncing my iPad2 (32GB) and I was told that iTunes does not recognize my iPad and that it needs to be restored to factory settings. I've tried plugging it in with the cable and syncing it wirelessly and it's not working. I've turned it on and off again and restarted it and tried different USB ports and nothings working. It does sync with my iPhone, but no luck with the iPad. I would hate to lose everything on my iPad. When I tried plugging in my iPad to my computer, the camera roll did show up on autoplay (windows vista) so it does recognize my iPad. .

IPad Mini :: Factory Restore On Jailbroken IOS 6.1?

Feb 8, 2013

I have just been given an iPad Mini a couple of days ago. This is my first Apple device ever. My friend says it's "Jailbroken" and has a few custom applications. He has his music on there and a ton of pictures.

I wanted to remove everything from the device through a factory reset, but my friend keeps telling me that I can't because of the Jailbreak and I would mess it up so I would have to keep it the way it is.

Is this true? Or is there a program out there that can UnJailbreak (is that what you would call it?) and factory reset my device?

Like I said earlier, this is my first Apple product and have no previous experience or knowledge about all this stuff.

IPad Air :: Only Few App Synced After Restore To Factory Settings

Sep 12, 2014

I just restore my ipad air. I started the restore process and a few applications was synced (6 or so) after that no other application or music or whatever was synced. The status bar on Ipad show the syncing wheel turning and iTunes shows that the same application is syncing. I tried a reset all content and settings with no luck. I also did a restore to factory and no luck. The ipad was running the sync process for the whole night, so I'm assuming it is not a matter of time.

What exactly do I need to do to prep the old unit for sale? I figure restore it to factory default, but do I also need to deauthorize it in some fashion?
