I bought a brand new ipad2 today and get it home and the screen is unresponsive it will work for a bit then nothing. then like a delayed reaction all these different apps will open while its just sitting on the table.ive restarted and restored number of times and still the same result
Had my iPad for 6 weeks, have several accounts in mail. Sometimes mail freezes and does nothing. Mostly happens when I select multiple messages to delete. Only solution is to turn off and on again. If I quit mail and go back it resumes in the same place. It's annoying, have the same accounts on my Mac Mini and iPhone and they work just fine .†
I am starting to get an intermittent problem with the home button. Sometimes it just doesn't respond to any clicks, other times it's fine. I have tried hard reset and it still does it from time to time.
Occasionally, pressing Home Button will do nothing. So I press it again -- sometimes upwards of 4 or 5 presses before it finally responds. I'm not mashing the button and am certain that each press is an appropriate amount of force (I proudly own an iPhone 3, 3GS, 4, iPad 1 and now iPad 2, so I'm confident about how much force to press these Home buttons).
I tried power cycling the iPad 2, but that didn't help. I closed all running applications. At first, that seemed to work. For several hours, the Home button was perfectly responsive. But alas, here I am this evening, again frustrated with the non-responsive Home button. At times, I can't even turn on my iPad since the button won't respond for several seconds.
Again, this is occurring whether I'm using my configuration (latest IOS version) or even with the factory default setting.
I have an iPad 1 3G 64 GB. I purchased it in June 2010. Have used it moderately. Recently (one week ago) the power button has started to go south. I have to press it very hard and there is no click any more. It seems to be getting worse day by day (I am now traveling and use it a lot). I have apple care so I am not that worried about Apple taking care of this. I just wanted to know from others if they expect this to be an exchange for refurbished situation or a repair. I have an Apple store near. Should I make a Genius appointment? I have had lots of trouble with iMacs in the past year and got used to simply walking into the store without appointment.
I just recently bought an ipad 2, when i bought it, it all work fine until now the first trouble is that the ipad2 become unresponsive(touch screen wise)when playing games, when connecting or losing wifi connection, emailing, and mostly just being on,will have the chance of the ipad freezing up and also the ipad sometimes goes berserk while in touch screen nresponsive mode the screen is moving on its own and sometimes types things on its own as well.i have tried several ways to fix it, reset manually at the ipad2 settings, soft reset, hard reset, update the firmware(i have updated it to os5.1.1), restore ,and backup, and none of those help.I thought it would be unresponsive apps that make the ipad froze up, and i don't think that the issues, i'm hoping the problem in not hardware wise(bad ipad batch).
I have an iPad Mini retina which suddenly stopped working, looks fine but it is completely unresponsive to touch. You cannot swipe to unlock or shutdown, it does nothing.
It's only 6 months old but isn't covered by the warranty anymore as I had the screen replaced a while back. I know I should have gone through Apple however we have a son with special needs and let's just say this isn't our first iPad screen replacement despite Otter Boxes all round. It would be very expensive to always go through Apple. (note this is the first replacement on this iPad though).
Now this happened to another Mini of ours and Apple took it in and sent it back 'fixed' saying all they did was restore iOS. Obviously I had done that myself to no avail and they did it in the Apple Store also without success but Apple Care did it and it worked.
So my question is, with this iPad is there anything more I can try? I have done a complete re-install (fresh install not a backup) and it's still unresponsive. Is there a tool to mimic whatever Apple Care did to the other one?
I have both an iPhone 3GS and iPad 1, I upgraded them both through the 'settings' menu on the phone, which to me, is a great idea... When it works properly.†Anyhow, straight after update, I had this problem: [URL]. However, now the right side of my iPad screen has become totally unresponsive.
So I've tried hard resets, restores (Redownloaded iOS 5.1.1 through iTunes), nothing is working.†So now I can't even setup the iPad, since the 'Next' button doesn't recognize me touching it, and sadly you can't turn rotate the screen to use a part of the screen that is working on the setup menu.†How to manually sort this.

Got my iPad 3 today and instantly noticed that the home button is kinda off compared to my phone and iPad 2. Some times it doesn't even recognize that I have pressed it. And every other time that it does, there is a clicking noise to it.
I got my ipad 2 as a present for xmas and for the past 2 weeks the touchscreen continuously freezes up. It won't let me touch anything at all. The ipad is still working as the lock button at the top works and the home button at the bottom still registers, its just the touch screen. I have held the lock and home button down to reset the ipad but when it turns back on it is still frozen. The only way it seems to work again is if I just leave it for about 2 hours or so and eventually it works again for a bit. I have also done a complete factory reset from my itunes on my computer and as soon as it restored itself and loaded all my data back on, guess what, the screen froze.
My iPad mini is unresponsive just a black screen and won't charge up.  I've been into Lincoln Apple storm front but they couldn't support as not Apple? He checked it and agreed it does not boot through reset or iTunes. Can it be repaired?
My iPad 4 has stopped working.  It froze suddenly as I dragged a file to my home screen and it appears the home screen was full, not sure if that's the reason but the entire touch screen became unresponsive.
So first thing I tried was to do a hard reset, held the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time, waited for 10 seconds or so, the device restarted I saw the apple logo, then the date/time and the Slide To Unlock, everything LOOKS normal, I tried sliding across it and it was not responsive.  I cannot even get to the passcode screen.
I was then advised to do a Restore from ITune, so I connected the iPad to my computer and downloaded the latest iTune to my computer, then initiated the restore...it started to perform the restore and an hour later an error message on my computer popped up saying "ITune could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode.  You must enter your passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes."
I would love to enter the passcode but I can't because I can't get past the unresponsive Slide To Unlock, that is the reason I needed to restore in the first place, so what are my options?
I have tried the hardware reset/restart.  I called Apple support and the advice was to do a restore.  I attempted a restore and it requires the iPad to be unlocked, but I cannot get to the passcode screen due to the unresponsive Slide To Unlock.
iPad constantly glitching/freezing/crashing/parts of screen unresponsive - time for a factory reset OR a trip to the Apple store???
My son has nothing but problems with his iPad Mini.  It is less than a year old and it constantly freezes/crashes/glitches and parts of the screen are unresponsive.  This happens while playing games, watching movies, surfing the net etc etc
The iPad has been in a heavy duty Survivor case from day 1 and has been very well taken care of - so I don't think it's a damage issue
I have tried numerous resets (just holding the 2 buttons) and have disabled every feature on the iPad that might be causing memory/RAM issues (?)  all to no avail.
I haven't tried resetting to factory settings as I don't want to lose all the data on the iPad (mostly his game achievements and Minecraft maps that he has worked so hard on!!!)
1) Take it in to the Apple Store - I have never gone to Apple over an issue, is this possibly covered by warranty???
2) Factory Reset - If I do this can I save all his game achievements/data???
When I get into some websites through Safari on my iPad 3, I can find ĎSubmití button to enter the information. But, the button is not responding on tapping over it. I thought it was the problem with the website and browsed it through windows. This time, I canít find any type of issue with the button. What has to be done to avoid this anomaly?
Really weird thing happened last night. I went to bed leaving my iPad downstairs, it had 52% battery left. The iPad has the cover that turns it off on closing so I don't leave anything running. I'm also pretty keen about switching off any apps running in the background and running the battery to 10% in order to do a full charge at least once a month.Anyway, when I went to check for emails this morning, the iPad was totally unresponsive. Absolutely no battery charge at all, totally run down. I immediately thought I had a major problem but the iPad has charged up nicely to 100% so I am waiting to see how the battery consumption fares over the next 24 hours.
My iPad 4's Multi Touch display is unresponsive in a very small particular vertical portion of the screen. I have done all of the appropriate trouble shooting functions and they have all yielded negative results. I have scheduled an appointment with my local Apple Store. It is not the entire screen that is unresponsive to the touch it is only a very small portion just right of center screen.
My ipad 16gb will not completely turn on. When turned on it comes up with the apple logo followed by a small loading icon but fails to progress any further. I have tried on multiple occasions to reboot it. When this happens it turns off and automatically turns back on.
I've had some issues with the FlexPlayer app while playing .avi files that causes the ipad to completely lock up. Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME for time about 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons.
My iPad (32MB Wifi Only) is currently unresponsive to touch. I cannot even unlock it from the lock screen. I have tried the "hard reset" where I hold the home button and lock button down until the iPad restarts, and I've tried to restore the iPad from a backup in iTunes. Nothing I've tried has had any success.
The iPad doesn't appear to be frozen; the iPad changes orientation when I turn it 90 degrees, and before I locked it, double-tapping the home button brought up the search screen. It syncs with iTunes. It simply is not responding to any touch.
I've babied my iPad from the time I've received it, and I've been using the Apple case for most of the time I've owned it, so I'm not inclined to believe that this problem is the result of trauma.
The problem seems to have gotten progressively severe over the course of the past five days. Initially, I was able to resolve the unresponsiveness to touch by locking and unlocking. It worsened to the point where I had to do the "hard reset" (hold Home + Lock). When that no longer worked, I was able to resolve the issue by connecting my iPad to iTunes. It's worsened still, and now I can't resolve the issue at all - not even with a restore from backup.
I have a 16gb iPad, wifi model, and the screen will sometimes be unresponsive. This seems to happen when i leave the screen alone for a while with it on. Like when watching a YouTube video in full screen mode, it will take about 2-3 taps on the screen before the menu will come up.
