View 3 RepliesWhen I went to create my Verizon prepaid Account through the cellular data settings screen, the service failed to activate and gave system errors and activation errors. When I called Verizon, they said that my sim was dead and I should go to a Verizon store to have it replaced. Unfortunately, when I went there, my only option was to get a new sim card activated on a normal Verizon account rather than prepaid...
Now, I'm happy to have service, and it's still month to month with no activation, but I am not able to get the $20 plan. A little disappointed, but not enough to switch to AT&T.
l am using my ipad and for some reason my mail won't connect to server. Yesterday it was saying the details for imap were incorrect, then my password. l have opened another acc with same email and password, it seems now my only issue is the not connecting to server.

Every time I go into my iPad mail I get the following pop up.
"Cannot get Mail" The connection to the server failed. I click on OK, which seems to be the only option.
I "think" I'm getting all my mail from all of the accounts I've got set up after going through this routine several times, but I'd like to know what needs to be changed to stop this incessant pop up and why it started in the first place.
I Have an iPad4. When I try to open my email a message appears "cannot get mail. Connection to the server failed". But my spouse has a separate email account with the same setting on the shame iPad, and this is not affected. I also use a laptop for email, and this receives email normally--I have not changed password or server details on either device recently .

I am looking for using location based services in my iPad2. But I am not able to figure it out? Please help me to enable location services.
View 1 RepliesAnyone else see this before - did a search through the forums and couldn't find anything on it.Basically here is the scenario 1. I have 3 bars2. Says Verizon and 3G in the top bar3.I click on View Account to setup a new account and it gives me the "Connection Failed"4. I have restarted, reset settings, reset network settings, turned on and off Cell and wireless.5. I guess I need to call Verizon, but wanted to see if anyone else had this.I'm still very happy I was able to find my iPad 64 GB Black Verizon yesterday at Best Buy in Chicagoland West Burbsjust got lucky and they had 1 available to sell, as others were for pre-orders.

What do you do when you get a "connection to mail server failed" message?

I have had my iPad since Christmas when I got it from my son. My email worked just fine but now I receive a message saying "The connection to the server failed". I called the Bell. The rep. went over the settings with me and said they'd were fine and that I should take it back to the store. Then while reading the forum I saw the same question and answer.
The advice given was to delete the settings . Does this mean I take out all the SMTP etc. and then put the information back in. I know I haven't got this right.
I run an iPhone 4S and iPad2 - iOS 6.1.2. The iPhone has 2 gmail exchange accounts that work fine along side each other. I've been running a single exchange account on the iPad and an IMAP setup for the other account but decided I wanted to add push email and so added the same 2nd exchange account as on the iPhone but I get an error saying:
"Cannot Get Mail, The connection to the server failed".
On setup of the new exchange mail on the iPad I get all the ticks and I know the credentials are the same on both devices yet the iPad fails, the iPhone has been working a couple of weeks with no issues.
Bluetooth doesnīt connect my keyboard. I have an iPad 3 and it was always connected with my Logitech keyboard via bluetooth. Some days ago I had to disconnet it for a short time but afterwards it didnīt connect any longer. A window opened, that told me again and again "Connection failed". So I tried to connect mi iPhone 5 S with the keyboard and there it worked. So I presume that something is wrong with my iPad.
View 1 RepliesI purchased an iPad from Apple, and I have been having a problem getting a connection to my wifi home service only. When I begin using the iPad from sleep mode there is no wifi connection. It takes about a good 5 minutes for the wifi service to begin working with the iPad. The iPad has no problems when it is used with another wifi service such as with my employer. Also I have other computer equipment in my home where it picks up wifi service with no problem.
View 14 Repliesafter updating to 5.1.1 I can no longer connect with my home wifi/wlan. It works with all other devices that we have - except with the iPad 3 I allways get the error message "connection to wlan failed". Router ist DLINK DIR300 Router and iPad have been rebooted
View 1 RepliesI tried to configure email on the new iPad. I have connection to the internet via wifi and can reach web mail. But however I try to configure email every time I got message that "Cannot Get Mail - the connection to the server "xxx" failed. I'm 100% sure that all information such a server, user name and password are correct because I'm using this account also in my MacBook.
Can somebody help me? Why I cannot configure mail in my iPad successfuly? Does it work with servers which I got from provider or it is necessary put something special?
This has been a pretty regular problem for me w/ my iPhone when I'm own my home WiFi: desktop and laptop connect to IMAP mail server(s) fine, but when iPhone tries to it gets theCannot Get MailThe connection to the server <mail server hostname> failed. Now I'm getting this without exception on my iPad. On the iPhone, I can get around it by switching to 3G, but not on this WiFi-only iPad.I've tried increasing the max connections per IP on the IMAP server in question, but that's had no effect. I've searched high and low on Google and other forums and there's TONS of threads on this/similar issues -- but no solutions.
View 5 RepliesI combed through the forum to see if anyone else has reported this issue. WOW, I was surprised at the wide range of general Wifi problems. Although many, many wifi issues are listed, I did not find a post already listing one.
My Wifi seems to work great on first glance, but when using the iPad for more than 5 minutes the issue becomes noticeable. This occurs while doing pretty much anything. I notice it the most when web surfing and reading books in iBooks. The wifi signal indicator in the status bar drops off to nothing, usually just for 10 seconds or so, then it reconnects. Sometimes it takes longer and at which time a little blue dialog box appears that says "Connecting..." Then it connects and life goes on. Rince and repeat 5-10 minutes later.
Now, I have a feeling it might be something with my Airport Base Station Extreme (ABSE) and here is why: My wife also has an iPad, and the same thing happens to her. It's not an extremely old ABSE, as it is "Extreme" running 7.4.2. I have tried several different settings on the ABSE including reverting to default settings and simply setting it up again with the most basic settings.
So, I am unsure if this problem is caused by the iPad or the ABSE, but either way, it is annoying. Was just wondering if others had experienced this and how they may have solved it. Judging by the wide range of serious wifi issues listed on this forum, it seems to be that Apple has some serious work to do on Wifi in general and maybe all these issues will be resolved in an update.

Not sure what happened but I started getting an error when trying to get my comcast email. The error says "connection to mail.comcast.net has failed". Everything has been working fine until yesterday. I tried deleting the account and starting from scratch but it didn't work. Any ideas?
View 3 RepliesMail from our exchange server to the iPad 2 is working fine. When one of our users changed his AD password on his PC then he got an error on the iPad about "cannot get mail - connection to server failed". If we then change the password on his exchange setup screen on the iPad then the E-Mail works again, Is it normal?
View 3 RepliesI am trying to search my Gmail account from the iPad original email application. When I type the searh item into the earchbox and hit Enter, it shows the relevant downloaded/synced items and a link to "Continue to Search on Server". When i hit the "Contunue.." link I get notice "Cannot Get Mail. The connection to the server failed". In the meantime the search works fine from the G-Whizz! application...
