Tonight I picked up an apple case and like the idea I just wish it had a lock to keep the flap on. Plus I doubt it great for durability so I'm looking for suggestions on a case like apples but more protection. I know for the time being there are so many out and I don't trust many brands on Amazon due to trying iPhone cases in the past, not that I like the brand name prices. I noticed this one case on Amazon and it looks like one I would like http://www.amazon.com/Marware-602956...3215068&sr=8-5
http://gizmodo.com/5506692/ipad-is-the-futureWhy Apple?s iPad will kill today?s computersFriday, April 02, 2010"Normal people don't like today's computers. Most loathe them because they can't fully understand their absurd complexity and arcane conventions," Jesus Diaz writes for Gizmodo. "That's why the iPad will kill today's computers, just like the latter killed computers running with punchcards and command lines.""Of course, the iPad?the actual product that millions will buy in the coming months?won't replace all computers. The entire world is not going to run just on tablets, just like the world doesn't run only on smartphones and personal computers now," Diaz writes. "But Steve Jobs' Next Big Thing is the first computer that requires no training whatsoever, one that is truly accessible and useful for everyone. Just like the iPhone changed the idea of what a phone should be without anyone truly realizing it, Apple's new computer will completely and permanently change our idea of what a computer is and how it should behave."
I'm debating whether to purchase an ipad. I have been looking but haven't found anything on apples website, does the ipad support printing?Like if i got an email could i print it, or print a picture? Win7 ultimate 64,XP, Mac OSX 10.6.2+Windows 7 professional 64-bit, 3.1 iPhone OS
Anyone know of a product that works like Apples case but will take an iPad in a gel case. I really prefer to use my devices in a skin but would also like to be able to transport or display with screen protection?
After Wired extracted a photo of the supposed webcam in the iPad Job's showed during the presentation, I thought, I could extract a better photograph.
I used the new HD stream now on Apple's website and choose a frame which shows detail without having blown highlights. I adjusted levels and magnified x2. The on/off button is at the bottom edge (cropped).
My result is in the attachment.
There definitely is a device, most probably a webcam.
From the specs, it looks like iPad 3G version has a GPS chip. But when I asked apple representatives on two occasions (using chat), they said, there is no dedicated gps chip, but it can use an external gps chip. Very confused.
well i read that the ipad will have a Digital compass. i also read that the iphone 3gs had a magnetic compass. is this right? also does the Digital compass have the same problems as the magnetic cause when in the car my iphone says im looking side ways when im pointing it strait
I have used the compass feature in maps successfully at home. Currently, I am in an area with no hot spots but I do have Internet connectivity by DSL. Maps cannot determine the location which isn't surprising but the compass feature doesn't work either.
The tech specs list a Digital Compass under the Location specs. I can't find it on the iPad. The iPhone 3G has a compass app. The specs don't indicate that the digital compass is only on the 3G model.Perhaps I can't see the forest for the trees. My wife tells me I have an incredible flair for the obvious
I just opened the maps application and I noticed I had a digital compass like on the 3GS.I was turning the iPad around and my location on the screen was rotating in realtime. I closed the app down and tried it again, but can't seem to get it back. I don't remember having set any option anywhere.
I got Star Walk last night and was dismayed by the poor performance it exhibited in augmented reality mode: the sky map jumped around a LOT.Thinking it was a Star Walk problem, I set off to see if the Star Walk devs were aware of it or had any fixes. That was when I decided to see if I could find a compass app, just as an additional data point so I could say for sure it was the app. I found MagnetMeter HD (http://www.plaincode.com/magnetmeter/) for the iPad, a free app, and loaded it. Imagine my surprise when it showed the same kind of problem! Sometimes it points east, indicating north; other times it always points north; other times, it jumps around randomly.
I want to update my iPad from 4.2.1 to 5.1.1 but I have a problem. My iPad is jail broken, and I have downloaded the software for the iPad (iOS 5.1.1), but every time I try to update it via iTunes, it tries to contact apples servers. I am using a dial up connection as my router broke, and iTunes cannot get to apples server because dial up is rubbish.
When I update, I hold down SHIFT while clicking restore. A file browser pops up and I click the Ipsw file (iOS 5.1.1) then it unpacks the file in iTunes and it tries to contact apples servers. It stays on that forever and I am unable to bypass this?
I use Icloud to connect my ipad with my MAC pc But when i read my mails on my PC and then delete them They will be deleted on my PC but still on my ipad. How can this be possible ? i need it like : Delete mails on my PC = deleted on ipad
I have an AT&T iPad 3 and am one of the few 'grandfathered' all you can eat internet customers who gets unlimited data for $29.99. My area is not AT&T LTE ready, but Verizon rolled out LTE years ago here. I know this because I happen to have a Verizon 4G LTE MiFi card for work.
My questions: 1) Is the iPad 3 SIM UNLOCKED? Such that a trip to Europe & a local SIM would work?
2) Should I consider giving back my iPad 3 AT&T model & getting the Verizon one instead? (i've heard rumors that my AT&T SIM would even work in the verizon model flawlessly with no effort).
3) If I got the Verizon iPad3, pop-ed out the SIM card it comes with & use the SIM from my Verizon 4G MiFi device, will the data work?
4) Is it true that the Verizon iPad3 can also be used as a MiFi, or wireless hot spot?
