IPad 2 :: Page Turning Sensitivity For IBooks

Aug 17, 2011

Is there any way to moderate the sensitivity to affect turning the pages in the iBook. I swear my finger has not touched the screen and as many as 15 pages turn before I get the deal stopped?

IBooks Disable Page Turning By Margin Tap?

Nov 4, 2010

In the iBooks app, it would be great if we had an option to disable page turns by tapping in the margins, meaning only allowing page turns by the right- or left-ward swipe gesture. Page turns by swipe are a lot more intuitive to me, equally easy, and tapping margins often interferes with text selection for highlightingwith that for the ol' iBook hardware)? If so, I haven't managed to locate it.

IPad 2 :: IBooks - When Finished Reading A Page The Toolbar At The Top Has Disappeared

I find iBooks very useful for storing not only my books but also my PDF files containing recipes, knitting patterns, etc. Only problem is that when I have finished reading a page, the toolbar at the top has disappeared and, even if I tap that area, my Collections option does not always appear.

Getting IBooks To Read To You Automatically With Page Turns?

Apr 7, 2010

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_1_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7E18 Safari/528.16)

I know a few of you were interested in this. Here's how to do it (according to lioncourt.com, who are self proclaimed experts in Apple accessibility).

1. Turn VoiceOver on. Unless you're using it all the time, I suggest going to the settings pane and choose Accessibility, VoiceOver then check 'triple click of home to turn VoiceOver on or off' or whatever the option is. Can't check right now as I am using my iPhone to post this and if I come out of Safari this text will disappear.

2. Open iBooks and the book you want. Triple click the home button to tum VoiceOver on. It will say 'VoiceOver on'.

3. Place two fingers on the screen. Make sure they're fingers held next to each other. Flick those fingers downwards in a smooth quick motion. You may have to practice to get it right.

4. VoiceOver will begin to read the page from the top, and when it gets to the bottom, it will turn the page for you and carry on speaking the next page. And so on. To stop it just tap on the screen anywhere with one finger (VoiceOver will most likely read whatever is under your finger, then stop. )

5. Unless you want to carry on using VoiceOver gsetures for everything else you do with your ipad, remember to triple click to turn it off again when done.

Caveats to this are that I do not have an ipad to test this because I'm a forgotten UK apple fan, I'm just relaying what lioncourt.com has said. Usually they get it right with regards to VoiceOver but not always.

Here's someone else's youtube demo for those who can see (no narration to describe how to do it, just a video of someone doing it) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5kLiRxuuq0

IPad Air :: Can Reduce Sensitivity Of Touchscreen?

Mar 31, 2014

I was experiencing some frustrations with my new iPad.

I think about 90% of my problems are the result of the touchscreen being way too sensitive for my hand. I am constantly having to correct extraneous or duplicate characters. Other times, the cursor is sent to the wrong place on the screen. All together these events seriously impact my experience on an otherwise fabulous machine.

Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity of the touchscreen?

IPad :: Limit Number Of Fingers - Sensitivity

Jan 24, 2013

My adult son is mentally retarded (Angelman syndrome), but enjoys looking at photos and videos on his iPad. However, he does not understand that he has several fingers that make unwanted things happen when he moves his hand on the screen. Is there any way to limit the screens perception of finger touch to just one, no matter how many fingers actually touches the screen? What he needs to accomplish is just to wipe to the next picture, not twist or zoom in or anything fancy requiring several fingers.

IPad Mini :: Any Way To Turn Down Touch Sensitivity Or Disable It Around The Edges?

Jul 5, 2013

I have a new IPad mini and was wondering if there was any way to turn down the touch sensitivity or disable it around the edges? What I'm noticing is that when you're holding it in your hand, browsing Safari or reading Flipboard, it interprets the light pressure of your fingers on the edge as a command to abort or go back and you lose what you're doing. It's very irritating. The only safe way to use it is to lay it on the desk and not touch it. Is it only MY Ipad or has everybody else got the same problem? My Ipad One wasn't as bad, though it did it occasionally. Should I take it back to the Apple Store for replacement or is it fixable?

Stylus Pressure Sensitivity - CONFIRMED!

Jul 2, 2010

As some of you may know by now, I am a NUT when it comes to product research for my ipad. Styluses being one of the areas of research. Alot of threads have been about different stylus designs and technology.I am here to report that a company called "Ten One Design" has just successfully created the basis for app evelopers to introduce Pressure Sensitivity for Styluses on the iPad and the ability to rest your palm on the iPad while you are writing/sketching.The good thing is that the technique created is ALL Software based and there seems to be an existing version of the Pogo Stylus that works. Now all we have to do is wait for ether existing apps to adapt this code for their software or wait for new software to be created around this platform. You can read more about it here http://www.tuaw.com/2010/07/02/press...g-on-the-ipad/

Touch Screen Sensitivity For Different Apps

Sep 19, 2010

I've noticed a wide range of touch screen sensitivity from one app to another. For example, the New York Times app is exquisitely sensitive to the slightest pressure applied to the screen. But with other apps I sometimes almost have to poke at the screen in order to get a page to load. Is this a function of the quality of the individual apps? Or is there any underlying hardware issue? Thanks in advance.

Heck Does OpenSSH Affect Touch Sensitivity

Aug 15, 2010

So I'm cruising along on my newish iPad, and I want to transfer some Scumm games so I can lay via ScummVM. I install openSSH, fire up cyberduck and I'm transferring away. While I'm waiting for the transfer to finish, I check some email on the iPad and the touch sensitivity is all messed up. The button hotspots are about a half a width off to the bottom, so if I want to click, I have to press Judt brow the button for the press to register. I uninstalled OpenSSH and the issue went away.
