I'm new to iPad and just finding my way but I'm stuck with Skype and can't find the settings to adjust camera or sound.
View 4 RepliesSide Switch: I used to have an unlocked rotation and sound on my iPad2. Apparently now you can only put your settings to mute or rotation, and the Side Switch does not allow rotation and sound or locked rotation and mute sound simultaneous. It simply mutes your sound if you set your rotation to unlocked or lock your rotation if you choose the mute settings.
Rotation and Sound.
Rotation and muted Sound.
Locked Rotation and muted Sound.
Locked Rotation ans Sound.
Those settings should be possible, but how?
My iPad2 used to make a sound when I received an incoming email. It no longer does that, despite all my sound settings showing it as working properly. Does the sound go out on these iPads?

I don't seem to have any sound on my games but it's turned on in settings.
View 2 RepliesI recently realized that the main volume control in settings isn't the only control and that Mute doesn't really mean Mute (its Different). There is a volume control in settings under sounds that corresponds to the side buttons (if set up that way). The is also a "sound effects" volume that the side buttons seem to control, but only during certain conditions. When "sound effects" volume comes into play and what it controls if not notification sounds? There is also the Mute switch which only Mutes Apps sounds and notifications, but it doesn't Mute Safari or YouTube so it obviously doesn't Mute all Apps.
There is also the volume controls found in the taskbar which seem to be tied to the ipod side of things, but also control the camera shutter sound and keyboard clicks. This has to be the most confusing way of doing volume ever. Separate sliders for each volume in Settings under Sounds and a couple switches in Settings to choose what gets muted, easy, intuitive, done. Unless someone could explain the logic behind their method and/or explain "sound effects" volume and/or how to actually mute the speaker entirely and easily.
Can you lock the sound volume level that you have set up in Settings>General>Sound? When using the iPad it is easy to bump the sound volume switch on the side of the iPad. Before you know it, the sounds have either turned themselves off or are on full blast. I miss the "swish" when e-mail is sent when the volume is inadvertently turned off. View 1 RepliesAll of a sudden whenever i play any sound whatsoever on me ipad, it comes out high pitched and faster, like its on helium. It must be a software issue, because both headphones and the built in sleaker emits sound faster. I played a song and it was like this. All apps are played 2x, and so are movies and push notifications. It was just after i used the beat making app where you have a grid of dots to fill in which it plays. I clicked on a song in an email, this app opebed, i closed the app, then went to music, and now its like this I know how to fix it i think because it was on another post, but i just thought id write this on here to let someone at apple know there is a bug in their system. Anyone know why or what is causing this?
(even when i slow podcasts down to half, it still sounds high pitched, so its not like ive flicked a switch or something)
I am having sound problems on my iPad. When I play a movie, podcast, or game that uses sound, the sound is played at 2x speed. So listening to a podcast sounds like the chipmunks recorded it.
View 6 RepliesAfter I had finished upgrading 4.2.1 firmware for my iPad, the speaker's sound has gone.I can hear the sound from my iPad only when I connected to any headphones or bluetooth devices.I tried many methods to get the sound back, starting from:1. trying to plug in and out my headphone - nothing changed2. switch on and off from the mute button (former is lock button) but it only showed "Headphones" or "Mute" sign.3. shut down and turn on my iPad - nothing changed4. Hard Reset my iPad and Restore - Still no sound, but I had to re-install everything again5. Ask everyone and search every "no sound from iPad" topics but found none like mine.
