IPad 2 :: How To Reset To Factory Settings Without Apple ID

Sep 3, 2014

I work at an elementary school and we have iPads for the students, however, a staff member who no longer works here set up the iPads using an unknown Apple ID. Is there a way to factory reset the iPads without having to re-enter the Apple ID after restoring it?

Reset It To Factory Settings Without Knowing Passcode?

May 3, 2012

We laid off an employee but don't have his passcode to reset the ipad to it's factory settings. Is there anyway I can do this? I tried following the directions I found:

If you dont know the passcode to go into the ipad and reset it, you simply need to connect the iPad to iTunes.

Connect your iPad to the USB port on your computer, open iTunes and on the left side of the panel will appear a category for Devices... select the iPad. The summary window will have the information on the iPad and below that the choice for Restore. Select Restore, and you will have to do some confirming usually, and the system will go to work restoring the iPad to the factory settings.

Network Reset Not Resetting To Factory Settings

Apr 14, 2012

I had to reset my wireless router and I know all the settings are correct including the password. My iPad recognizes this router but will not accept the password.

So I went to Settings>General>Network and touched the command to reset the network back to factory specs. I tried this twice but the network will not go away so that I can reenter the network

Reset It Back To The Factory Settings To Sync It With My Itunes

Mar 8, 2011

I'm buying a used one and just wanted to make sure that I will need to reset it back to the factory settings to sync it with my itunes like an ipod. Which means that I won't be able to use any apps that are on it from the past user, correct? He also said that I could use the rest of the month of 3G that he had. Can I do that without his password and will I be able to prepay using that sim card on my own account in the future?

My IPad Has Factory Reset Twice In 2 Days

Jul 4, 2012

Is it possible using only by holding down a combination of the external buttons or is it a fault?

I believe the kids because it happened this morning whilst only the youngest (2) was only able to touch it. It has a passcode which she doen't know (or comprehend, if it's not Peppa Pig she isn't interested!) so I assume she was just touching the the top and side (volume) buttons, maybe the 'Home' button also, but definitely hadn't turned it 'on' and able to go into the settings.

IPad 2 :: With IOS 8 Flashing On And Off - How To Factory Reset

Dec 4, 2014

I got a brand new ipad2 yesterday for my birthday! The apps were closing themselves out before even opening. I read about this online and it said to do an update. I did the update, but it failed. My wifi was secure but still didn't work. Next thing I know my ipad2 is now flashing on and off. I can't turn it off. I tried the reset by the sleep button and the home button. Next I tried to do a factory reset through icloud but it says that I must first turn off find my ipad feature. I did that, but it's still telling me I need to turn it off.

1. Resetting my ipad so it'll turn on ...
2. Updating to the best or most current ios version ...
3. Make sure that my apps will open ...

IPad :: Can't Remove U2 Album - Even After Reset To Factory Default

Sep 12, 2014

I noticed today that I got the U2 album download on my iPad. Ok, I didn't have auto downloads turned off. However, this is a bear to get rid off.

The U2 album does NOT show up on my Mac iTunes, it does not show up in my apple account so there is no way to hide it.

it only shows up on my iPad. (I didn't bother to check my iPhone but i am sure it is there too).

I have been reading through all these forums but there seems nothing I can do. I just reset the iPad to factory setting and reloaded everything.

I still have the U2 album showing up as being purchased and ready to be downloaded from the cloud.

On the iPad reset I did not enable iCloud and I will not.

I simply can't believe that Apple did this - it is almost like having a virus on the system. I hope they come up with a fix to remove this from those that did not request it. I am disabling iCloud from all my devices due to this.
