For work reasons I often need to record someone delivering a presentation and then almost immediately replay it to them so we can analyse and critique their performance. In the past I have connected the camcorder to a TV, and this is usually the best result. Lacking a TV I can play the video THROUGH my laptop using the software that came with the camera (Picture Motion Browser it's called, I think).
My question is can I do this with the ipad? All references to video and ipads that I have seen seem to involve actually downloading the video to the ipad. I just need it to act as a monitor for the camera.
I have owned my iPad 2 since launch and honestly, never taken 1 video with it. I went outside today and took a short 1-2min clip of my son on his big wheel, holding the ipad sideways (I think thats how your suppose to hold it to record at 720p). While recording I noticed the video would at times start having a weird black glitch (trees, the sky, etc) certain objects would turn black for just a quick moment, like a glitch! Even when I playback the video, the black glitch that comes and goes is there (it happened 3 times within a 1 min video).
I was doing a lot of video recording recently and noticed that what I see on the iPad screen is not a true representation of what gets recorded. On each side of the recorded video there is more space being recorded than shows on my iPad screen at the time of recording.
For instance, I was recording video of someone sitting in front of a black screen. I was tight enough that on the iPad you could see the subject and black background. When I viewed the video later I realized that the white walls on either side of the black screen made it into the video.
I recently rented a movie on itunes (on my ipad) set to download over night and the next day while watching it about half way through the movie it stop playing.I reset the ipad and nothing happends - still the same problem. Now again it is happening with a tv episode I downloaded. Plays about 1/3 of the show then stops playing. It seems as though the entire episode didnt download but itunes says it does because it no longer shows as downloading. Is there any way to redownload the video without having to pay for it again?
I have the iPhone 4 and have recorded lots of video of my baby and I also have an ipad (boy was mommy mad at the purchase amounts . Anyway, I sync my iPhone with my macbookpro and see the videos and photos in iPhoto. I then create an event (with videos and photos made with iPhone 4)and then check the box under photos in iTunes to sync with my iPad.I don't see my videos on the iPad with my photos. Is this a possible thing even? I am using 3 apple devices to share all photos and video to each and the photos appear on the iPad just not the videos made with the iPhone 4. Is the Photos App on the iPad capable of playing videos in itself?
So I downloaded the program "Rip It" and it's taking a very long time to rip and convert video to work with the iPad... I don't know what to do, my MacBook has been on for over 15 hours converting the video it's from a tv show series DVD its disk 1 that I am still on and their are about 12 episodes and it's taking so long.... How do I get it so I only want each episode to be good quality but only about 200-300mb? I don't want the files to be 1.3gb or more.
I am new to apple world and come from pc. I have purchased a recorder app to record class lectures and now want to move/copy them to my pc. But I have been told to use iTunes and do not know what to do next.
I just got my new Apple iPad Mini Retina Display 2nd Generation. I was wondering when charging the iPad can I use my PC to charge ? When I connect to my PC i see a message saying not charging. Also I was wondering is it possible to transfer files that was returned from Tune In Radio to my PC ? I can't seem to find the mp3 file that I recorded from Tune In Radio on my iPad Mini Retina Display.
I shot some video footage with my mini while on vacation and I can't locate any date/time info for the clips. (I found an app that will let me see the metadata on photos, but the .mov files are empty.)
And on that same note: After transferring the clips to my iMac, how can I modify the metadata (i.e. go back and add a creation date?) Again, I found a way to change the info on photos, but not on video.
I've recorded clips on Recorder Plus HD and wish to transfer them to my PC which has windows 7. However, below the file sharing option under the Apps tab in iTunes, I dont see these clips.... What should I do?
I am trying to create DVD's for other parents of our kid's basketball games that I recorded on my iPad2. I have the videos on my computer already (Windows Gallery), but whenever I try to burn the games I get a message that the videos can't be encoded (??). In other words, I am lost. Do I need to find some type of 3rd party program to convert the iPad video to a different format?
Why when I record a video, it is saved like a photo and not like a video. I mean that if I go in video app, I can't see my video that I just recorded, I have to search in my photos, but this is a video. I don't understand.
I would like to give a present to friend who will be sitting for an exam I passed last year.I have tons of ripped DVDs with lectures, pdfs of lecture outlines and "stacks" of electronic flash cards for the program Mental Case on my iPod Touch 32GB.I would like to transfer this material to a newly purchased iPad Wifi 32GB, but I am not clear how, not having direct experience with iPad. I suppose there must be a registration on initial set-up (credit card number ??) and also how to tie it to a AppleStore (iTunes) account (if he has one?).As this should be a surprise, I am on my own. And he is not very good with computers, if you say give him sealed iPad and the material recorded on DVD.
I'm a noob iPad owner and have a question. Can I save a recorded DVD (NCAA Football) to my Dell Studio laptop, then transfer it to my iPad? And if so could someone give me some in depth instructions on how to accomplish this.
I used to skype with people using my iPad but my callers cannot hear me after I upgraded to skype's latest OS and the iPad's latest OS. I just did a skype audio test and my message was not recorded so is something wrong with my in-built mic? The mic switch next to the volume switch is on so that's not the problem.
This is not another thread asking when the next revision will be, so calm down.
My question is, if you powered off your iPad, set it in a drawer and then went back 50 years later would it come back on assuming you recharged it? I've bought a few iBooks and it occurred to me that eventually they could be lost forever one day if the device stopped working. I realize the idea is that iBooks and other things are backed up and then transferred to newer devices. However, when you're talking about huge spans of time, it could be that those would be lost or that old books don't make it on newer gadgets.
The iPad seems pretty solid for the most part except for perhaps the battery-- but then again I'm no engineer.
So, what do you think? It would be cool to think someone might be able to turn on my iPad one day 200 years from now and read my books, watch my shows.
Anyone else wondering how long it's going to take to charge the new iPad up? Seems the old iPad 2 took long enough to charge up, but the new one's battery is what, 70% larger? Just thought of it now, and it'll be a minor adjustment.
Okay so I just got my iPad 3 yesterday after upgrading from an iPad 1 and I was just wondering how long does your iPad 3's battery last on average from a full charge? I have my mail set to manual only and my location services are all turned off. The only thing which is on is that my brightness is on full. It seems as though my iPad 3 doesn't last as long as my iPad 1. So with all that being said, how long does your iPad 3's battery last?
I just purchased a refergished iPad 2 which I initially charged vis USB computer connection. After receiving and installing the Smart Cover several days later. I noticed yesterday that the charge level was indicating 50%. At the time I was also attempting to initialize an Airport Extreme 1 for use as a mobile unit between my iMac and iPad so did not have an open USB port at the moment and connected the AC charger block with USB connection to the iPad. This morning when I checked the iPad is showing only 64% charge. With the cover in place, the iPad seems to operate in Sleep mode rather than physically being turned off. I guess the question is whether the Smart Cover properly shuts down the iPad or if there is some setup preference that I have not checked?
The only instructions with the Smart Cover was a pictoral attachment sheet on card stock which only showed the actual attachment process. There is, however, one part I did not understand and that was the loose leaf plastic feel that seems to indicate it just slipped into place with attachment only on the tab but not where else.
Info: iPad 2 Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1.1, Not absolutely sure of the iOS.
