I have just got an Ipad and tried to set up my mail server.I have a server that has SMTP on port 25 and IMAP configured on the default port 143, nothing special. In addition, I have port 144 for secure IMAP and 26 for secure SMTP. SSL is a self signed certificate for a custom root that is installed in all devices that allow it.I use SSL exclusively here and every laptop, desktop and other device works fine with it.I first tried to set the Ipad up with this, but when it did not work, I deleted the account and tried the non secure standard 25/143.The failure message - "Cannot Get Mail - The connection to the server "name" failed." happens straight after entering the mail application. After many failures,I turned on logging on my mail server and found whenever I attempted to retrieve emails, the following message happens:TCPConnection - SSL handshake with client failed. Error code:
View 1 RepliesTried to set up two of my Cox.net email accounts on the iPad and after several minutes of the spinning cog, it was unable to connect to the server in each case. I used the proper username, email address and POP server (pop.central.cox.net) and used the same SMTP server as my iPhone (cwmx.com). Unable to get email set up.Anyone else have this or similar problems?

I'm about 2/3 of the way through my trial period with MobileMe. I have two PCs (a Toshiba Satellite laptop and a Dell Studio i7), an iPhone 3GS and a Wi-Fi/3G iPad. I use the most current Microsoft email platform - Windows Live Mail - for email, contacts and calendaring on both my PCs. When setting up the iPad for sync, iTunes seems to indicate that the iPad will only sync calendars with Outlook, however. When I use Windows Live's servers to deliver my mail the iPad is unable to connect to the pop3.live.com server consisitently. Apple support says Microsoft is responsible for this problem but Windows Live has been consistently reliable and works well with the iPhone. I haven't been able to get MobileMe to work. I have heard in other forums that the pop3 non-connect is a known problem
View 1 RepliesAll of the sudden IPad won't get wifi, gives message "The connnection to the server mail.me.com failed". Wifi is working fine in my house. Worse, the message repeats over and over so I can't even read the mail that's there. It sort of disables the mail program entirely.

I used to be able to access my email from my iPad, but now it says"Cannot get mail, server error, Contact your server administrator".
View 1 RepliesI'd like to be able to access an Outlook Web Access 2003 server from my iPad. On my PC, I go to h_ttps://wtcmail.companyname.com/exchange/ (note that there is no undescore, but this forum won't allow me to have a link in my posts yet) and then I enter my username and password. When I do this via Safai, it fails. A window titled Secure Website Log into this secure website appears. It does not accept my credentials.
Suggestions appreciated. Is it the browser? Do I need a special app? Is it a setting?
This is my first post on this site. I apologize if I'm in the wrong spot.
Whenever I try to send e-mail through my iPad 2, I get the message “server denies the address”. What is the reason behind this issue and how I can overcome it?
View 3 RepliesI receive a daily email from my company, with a links in the body of the email, in the following format:
[url]...
(beginning of URL removed from link to allow post - new users must have 3 posts before links are allowed)
When I click the link on my Windows PC or laptop (either at the office or when working remotely) I get a window where I enter an ID and password to access the server and then the report is shown in my browser. These reports reside on a Windows server at our office.
When I select this same link on the iPad2 I get prompted for the ID and password but after I enter them I get an error, after a minute or so, stating "Cannot Open Page" "Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding".
I am trying to help a new IPad user. Syncing her mail to a roadrunner account. It will send and receive, but will not download the mail already on the server.

Internet access recently "blocked" using Safari on my Apple iPAD Mini. Screen message says Safari cannot load the page because the server not connected.
iOS 6.0.2 ? . The process starts to load but after a period of about 1 to 2mins. the above screen msg appears. Could this be to do with the Settings on my iPAD Mini ? Before this problem occurred it worked to my satisfaction. My iPAD is just over 1year old.

While using the native mail app, when I receive mail it seems to delete mail from the server so I can't get it with home pc. How can I have it keep a copy on yahoo server? I have the OE program on pc set to keep on server for 5 days after download but don't see how to do on iPad.
View 5 RepliesI use Charter email. When I access my email with my iPad, I cannot use my laptop or other computer to access my charter email. It says the server is locked. This is true even when I put the iPad in hibernation. I have to shut off my iPad completely in order to access my Charter email from one of my other computers.I also have a yahoo and other email account, but no problem there.
View 4 RepliesiPad 2 has been getting mail fine until a day or 2 ago. I am now getting the Cannot get Mail The mail server "imap.gmail.com" is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct account info into Mail settings. Nothing has not changed from when it was working. I finally deleted the gmail account and the exchange account and re-entered the correct data and it still will not work with same message. An email on the Gmail account came in on the exchange inbox but will not show on the gmail inbox to which it was sent with the same error message. My other email account at yousq.net seems to be working OK and uses the gmail server also.

Every time I go into my iPad mail I get the following pop up.
"Cannot get Mail" The connection to the server failed. I click on OK, which seems to be the only option.
I "think" I'm getting all my mail from all of the accounts I've got set up after going through this routine several times, but I'd like to know what needs to be changed to stop this incessant pop up and why it started in the first place.
