Can I set up safari to automatically open PDF documents from the internet into the pages app?

iPad (3rd generation) Wi-Fi, iOS 5.1
Just picked up a baseline 16GB WiFi only Ipad 2 days ago, and beginning to upload all my work documents onto it. I use mostly Word and PDF files. I've already downloaded and installed Pages, iBooks, and a free app called iPDF.
The problem I have is that I can get Word docs to open up fine, but it seems like the iPad hiccups a lot on bigger PDF files.
i.e., I have a large PDF file that is about 100 pages long, most of which is in xls spreadsheet format, and blueprints of floorplans (schematics). The pages with the spreadsheet loads just fine. Once it gets to the drawings, it chokes. If I try to zoom in, it chokes. If I rotate the iPad, it chokes again. Is there a work-around to this problem? I want to be able to present the file to my coworkers/boss and examine something without embarrasing myself.
2nd question I have is: is the Spotlight the only method of organizing the work documents? Is there no way of, say, creating a folder on the desktop, like my MBP?
Other than that, I'm really happy with my purchase. I don't have to lug around my MBP anymore, instead just whip out the ipad during the commute!
I have previously been able to open documents in pages, iAnnotate and good reader. For the last week I have not been able to. Drop box also affected. When trying to open a document, the screen pauses and cycles, but nothing happens.

Anyone know of a viewer for the iPad that recognized Open Office documents? I have GoodReader which is great. Especially since it connects to Clouds. However, it doesn't know what to do with these docs.

I have an iPad 64gig 3G. On my iDisk i uploaded my pages docs and my older word docs so that i can open them in the pages app on my iPad. With the pages docs i only get the option "open with goodreader" in the iDisk app. With the Word docs i get the option "open with pages or with goodreader". How is this possible?

Hi all. Was using a demo unit today at apple store, and could preview all 3 iWork document types within mail, but they wouldn't open in their respective apps from mail. We reset the iPad but no dice. Anyone have this problem on their consumer models, or any trouble opening outside docs? Didn't find anything on searching the forums.

View 1 RepliesI was downloading pdf docs from my gmail inbox and saving them in GoodReader apps, then the application suddenly close by itself. GoodReader popped up message asking me whether I would like to report the error, I chose "No". Then upon returning to my email inbox, I could no longer download or even view pdf docs. What should i do? I tried in several different emails pdf attachments, all is not working, I could not even view any pdf documents attachments from my inbox.
View 5 RepliesI suppose I can save a web page or any opened page from the Safari to somewhere or iBook on the iPad so that I can read them later on. I can't find any feature or function or the like with the Safari.

View 6 RepliesI have three questions about the use of the iPad. 1. I would like to use it for editing work I do.Need to have Safari open, copy content from a website, then paste in spreadsheet (Numbers). Is this possible? Can I have two windows open (Safari & Numbers) at the same time? 2. I have a large library in iPhoto on my MacBook.I need to do some photo editing.Sift through a couple of years of photos, delete some, crop some... Is this something I could do both on the iPad and on iPhoto on my MacBook?Perhaps take in some of my library at a time,do the work on the iPad,then export back to my MacBook to store them? 3. I have a Netflix account (5/at a time). Can I stream to the iPad for no extra charge from my "watch now" Netflix stuff.
