Will I ever get IPAD to work? I have been unable to hook up to internet. I bought a new WiFi adapter and it does list it as hooked up on the IPAD. I was going to return it but I really want to get it to work.
I recently bought an Ipad which seems to be working fine, except one thing; I am not able to connect to the internet. It's picked up my internet as the bars are at the top corner (three blue bars of signal). However when i open the Safari it is saying i am not connected to the internet, or something similar to that. What i don't understand here is, It's all connected through my Broadband as It's ticked on the Wi Fi setting. So what's the issue here? I don't want to take it back unless It's the last option, and as for the screen brightness which has some relevance? It's right up! The only thing that isn't set on my Ipad is the VPN, but are these mandatory?
Been looking at all the posts regarding connecting to the internet. I'm not interested in technology for it's own sake so have no idea what half of the equipment mentioned is for. So I'd appreciate a simple answer as to how I can connect my non 3G Ipad to the internet through my non 3G mobile (cell) phone.
Suddenly my ipad 3G will not connect to the internet - can't get to safari or Apple storeI have it connected to my router and the signal shows strong but Safari says its not connected to network Information:ipad - 3G Other OS VErsion 3.2 (7B367)
Does anyone know a way to get the iPad to connect to the internet without going through AT&T? According to the map linked from the Apple website, I have coverage. Unfortunately, I don't. AT&T implies that it's Apple's problem. Apple thinks the problem is with AT&T. I do not live in a major metropolitan area. I can get the AT&T Edge network to connect. It only takes 25-30 minutes but it will connect. Does anyone know of another carrier with a SIM card that works?
I talked with a very nice customer rep from Northern California but, alas, even resetting didn't really help. Our area advertises 3g service (and indeed iphones have great 3g service). Unfortunately, it won't work on the iPad. Anyone have a suggestion? I hate to have a $900 toy that I can't use. It connects to wireless just fine but that was NOT what I bought it for.
iPad has the feature in it to get connected to the internet through the network provider, I know that but do not know how get it connected and work on it using internet, provide me the information for the same?
I just opened my new ipad2 32Gb wifi. I connected it to iTunes and did a successful backup restore from my first gen iPad but I can't connect to the Internet. My router is showing connected in settings by when I start safari a box pops up saying I'm not connected to the internet.
always i have to restart my iPhone 3GS to get the internet connection. When i want to use internet on my iPhone, it shows that "can't connect to the internet". Then i have to restart my iPhone and i can get internet then. Its very annoying to get internet in such a way!
I have an iPad 64gb WiFi and 3G but it will not connect to the internet even if its connected to WiFi. I have reset the network settings, I have removed and re inserted the SIM, I have changed locations (due to signal).
The msg is "Safari connot open page because it is not connected to the internet" and "could not activate Data network".

Able to see/authenticate and connect to network at work which is using WPA-PSK. iPad shows connected/steady connection and has been assigned IP address. However, unable to connect to Internet, acts like not actually connected to internet. Tried my iPhone and it exhibits the same issue. Saw a few like issues posted here, but indicated fixes did not work, i.e., reboot router and iPad.
Why dose my Wi-Fi connection drop off at times even though I do not move the iPad or my iMac, when the connection drops I then go to my iMac and put the iPad close to the iMac and it takes about a minute for the signal to come to full strength, also the iPad seems to have problems connecting with the internet even thought there is plenty of band with.
I want to update my ipad to 3.2.2. I got the message in that I tunes is not connected to the internet. I can download apps en music so I am conected with the internet. Is there an other way to update my ipad or how can I solve this problem?
I have been using the iPad now for a few weeks without any problems. I connected my iPad to the PC and iTunes came up and performed a sync. (as it always does). This time (November 13th), after doing a sync. I can no longer connect to the Internet. I can see all the wireless networks and I can connect to my router. The signal strength is full but when I browse the web or use any other app that requires the Internet, a message pops up stating there is no Internet connection.I have done a "restore" to factory default settings, powered down/up the iPad and did a "reset all settings".
Never tried this Forum and thought to give it a go...because,I still have a problem to connect to the internet with my iPad after the update to 4.2.1 (had the same issues with the previous system)I am working in Ethiopia and use a USB-Dongle to establish the internet connection with my MacBook Pro and share the connection (System Preferences/Sharing/Internet Sharing) and it works perfectly well with my iPhone4 and colleagues computers and iPhones.
My iPad however finds the network and has a good signal but as soon as I try to open the internet I have a window opening telling me I don't have internet access. Anybody has the same or a similar problem?Have tried to reset the network settings on the iPad, restarted it, created various networks with and without password restriction, removed and reinstalled the USB-Dongel but nothing worked.
Information: MacBook Pro (2005) Mac OS X (10.6.5) Use iPad(4.2.1) and iPhone (4.1)
I just received my 16GB 3G IPad from Apple today. I have no intent on paying for the 3G service through AT&T. I have read that it is possible to tether a blackberry to the IPhone via Bluetooth to connect to another carrier. I have a Blackberry Curve 8330 that I am currently connecting to my laptop via USB to access Verizon's network for only $15/month for 5GB. Here are my questions:
1-Being that my phone is already set-up to be used as a teathered modem, if I pair my phone with the IPad via Bluetooth, will I be able to connect to the internet?
2-If so... Is there any reason that I should keep the 16GB 3G IPad or should I exchange it for a 64GB Wifi?
Quick question. If a router does not have Wi-Fi capability, will I be able to connect using Internet Connection Sharing on a PC that is wired to the router or will I have to get a dedicated Wi-Fi ADSL Router etc.
