Hacking :: Taking Long Time On (Prepare To Restore)
Sep 22, 2013
I have the iOS 7 ipsw file saved to my PC. I got my iPad 2 into DFU mode, shift-clicked on "Restore iPad", specified the ipsw, and now it's been stuck at the "Preparing iPad for restore" for the last 10 minutes at least. Is this normal?
I'm trying to upgrade to iOS 7 from iOS 6.1.3 jailbroken.

Taking Long Time For Backing Up
Sep 23, 2010
I've been trying to update the OS to the new 3.2.2.2.2.2.2.2.whatever and the I-Pad wants to back up. I left it alone and came back over three hours later and it was about half done backing up. This is not the first time. I had basically given up backing up because of this. So I can't even get the update at this point.
Information:
Windows 7

Syncing Taking A Very Long Time

If I sync Contacts only, then it will be a few seconds.. but when I start to sync my iCal .. it neer ends .. even after a couple of hours. I am not syncing anything else at the moment. Jan 13, 2011

I realise a lot depends on my wifi, which isn't the fastest but is pretty good, music and podcasts have downloaded almost instantaneously.

Battery Taking Long Time For Charging On IPad 3
Mar 26, 2012
Got an iPad 3 16GB black. Watched a 2 hr movie last night, full brightness. iPad was at 80% when I started watching, finished at 30% by end. Surfed a little bit before going to bed. iPad was at 18% when I plugged charger in. Shutoff (not sleep) so there would be nothing running. 8-1/2 hrs later, turn on iPad and it's only at 85%. This seems like a long time to charge. Is this normal?

IPad Air :: Battery Charging Taking Long Time
Aug 21, 2014
I recently bought an iPad Air (Yesterday, WiFi, 32GB). It's a wonderful wonderful tablet. It also has a great battery that is surprisingly long lasting. But, I noticed that it takes a long time to charge it. I was on like 55-65% battery and I plugged the charger and measured about 1 hour and 10 minutes and it only got to 85%! Now maybe that's normal and if it is I'm okay with it cuz it does have a great battery, and maybe it comes with a "price" of long charging. But I wanted to ask anyways, is it normal?

IPad 4 :: Outgoing Mail Taking A Long Time?
Sep 10, 2013
I gave my mother an iPad 4 earlier this year, but she recently said she's still using her old iPad 1 to send mail because it takes too long on the new iPad. Now that she's visiting, I just did a side-by-side test connected to the same Wi-Fi and sending the same one-sentence test text, and the iPad 4 repeatedly took close to 10 minutes to send, while the iPad 1 was instantaneous. She's using the Apple mail app linked to her Gmail account. I tried deleting the account and setting it up again, but that made no difference.

IBooks Book Taking A Long Time To Show Highlight Menu
Aug 27, 2010
I have several books in iBooks and they work great. I also have the ESV bible (4000+ pages) and it takes a long time (5 or more seconds) to show the highlight/notes menu when double tapping a word on certain pages and I cannot figure out why. The pages are in the 800s and some have highlight and some don't. I tried moving to different pages of the book higher and lower in page number and it works as expected. SO FRUSTRATING!I've tried the following: I searched the word "the" in the book to see if by continuing to run through the first 1000 pages of the search it would maybe index the book, but that made no change. I did a soft reset on the iPad by holding down the power and home button until seeing the Apple logo. I also told iTunes to not sync the book, then added it back again later. No change.

Restore From Backup - Would ICloud Still Restore All Pics, Bookmarks
May 24, 2012
So with the new JB coming soon I am finally updating to 5.1.1 and want to do so as in a restore. I have a question though, I don't want to use restore from backup and want to use a clean slate, could I still use iCloud this way and it would restore everything? I'm talking about my pics, and bookmarks would those all get restored through iCloud after updating even though I don't use the "restore from backup" feature in iTunes?

Restore From ICloud Backup?
Jan 4, 2012
I still have teh orginal iPad, anxiously awaiting the next one. As such mine has gotten slow and it crashes a lot! Especially since upgrading to 5.x.
My question is, with the iCloud and all now, what's the best way to backup and restore? Should I restore to 5.01 and simply reload the apps I want or do a restore from iCloud backup?
