IPad 2 :: Can Passwords / Information Be Recovered After Reset?
May 2, 2012
I'm going to return my Ipad 2 in exchange for an Ipad 3. My paranoia involves resetting the ipad. I went ahead and did so, and it appears to be "brand new". Is there a way the new owner of it in the future may be able to recover my email passwords/etc? I know in Windows it can be done really easily, but I've never owned anything Mac.
IPad Air :: Restore With ICloud And All Information Would Be Transferred
Aug 23, 2014
I bought the iPad Air and I also have iPad 2. When I turned the iPad Air on it said to restore to iCloud and all my information would be transferred. I still want to use my iPad 2 for myself from the same computer. Do I have to set up as a new users and do I plug the ipad air into the computer to let it restore.
I pad froze had to factory restore no option to restorefrm iCloud. Still cant reset with iCloud restore. Apple instructions ate crap. How do I get my stuff from iCloud. Apps are not restoring it, had to go to purchased items to get my apps back. Heard good things about iCloud but this makes me bitter that it's not working.
The other night my iPad turned off and I am unable to turn on.I tried a reset (hold home and power button together) for nearly a full minute with no response.I plugged it into iTunes and was prompted to Restore.I have done this at least three times and it returns the Restore prompt.I left it on charger overnight so it's not a lack of charge issue.
I am locked out of my IPad 2 after updating to ios5. Have restored using restore from back up several times. Each time it asks for a password, then disables when I enter the one I normally use. Cannot get to reset screen.
IPad 2 :: After Restore 7.1.2 And Reset It Stuck Again In Recovery
Aug 27, 2014
ipad 2 after restart or long sleep its stuck in recovery . i notice that complete night i turn off auto lock to never it not stuck but when i ON ,its goes to sleep around 5 to 10 min it stuck in recovery mode but its doesn't show itune logo its black and my mac shown its stuck in recovery
after many restart (hard restart power/sleep+home) its back alive and after sleep it dead again my ipad work 7.0 to 7.1.1 perfectly this whole issue is after updating 7.1.2 any chance to revert back to 7.1.1
Info: iPad 2, iOS 7.1.2, Black Screen with recovery mode cyc
My iPad 4 has stopped working. It froze suddenly as I dragged a file to my home screen and it appears the home screen was full, not sure if that's the reason but the entire touch screen became unresponsive.
So first thing I tried was to do a hard reset, held the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time, waited for 10 seconds or so, the device restarted I saw the apple logo, then the date/time and the Slide To Unlock, everything LOOKS normal, I tried sliding across it and it was not responsive. I cannot even get to the passcode screen.
I was then advised to do a Restore from ITune, so I connected the iPad to my computer and downloaded the latest iTune to my computer, then initiated the restore...it started to perform the restore and an hour later an error message on my computer popped up saying "ITune could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes."
I would love to enter the passcode but I can't because I can't get past the unresponsive Slide To Unlock, that is the reason I needed to restore in the first place, so what are my options?
I have tried the hardware reset/restart. I called Apple support and the advice was to do a restore. I attempted a restore and it requires the iPad to be unlocked, but I cannot get to the passcode screen due to the unresponsive Slide To Unlock.

Restore From Backup - Would ICloud Still Restore All Pics, Bookmarks
May 24, 2012
So with the new JB coming soon I am finally updating to 5.1.1 and want to do so as in a restore. I have a question though, I don't want to use restore from backup and want to use a clean slate, could I still use iCloud this way and it would restore everything? I'm talking about my pics, and bookmarks would those all get restored through iCloud after updating even though I don't use the "restore from backup" feature in iTunes?
I'm a little confused. My ipad is running 3.2, jailbroke using spirit, backed up my shsh files to cydia as well as local, and things have been running fine for some time. When connecting to itunes (now 9.2) via Mac and I notice my "OTHER" section for disk space has grown and now accounts for 4.08 GB of data. This is pretty significant for a 32GB ipad. I was hoping to clear this up and only way I can think of is to do a restore. First question is, is that the best step? or another way to clear out this "other" data? And if restore is the best approach, do I need to use my shsh files to do a restore? (if so, is there a guide with instructions how to do this?) Or can I just do a restore from itunes in normal manner, and then re-jailbreak afterwards (which I assume means I have to downgrade to itunes 9.1 and jailbreak with spirit again).
I just bought my iPad and jailbreak it immediately once I opened it (luckily it is still in 3.2.1). Now I just want to restore it back to factory 3.2.1 with the fireware I downloaded (3.2.1) but when iTunes verifies the restore, it gives an error 1394. My iPad is still in 3.2.1 and it is still jailbroken, just that when I restore it to 3.2.1 it gives that error. I am going to save my SHSH now to allow me to roll back if I accidentally upgrade to 3.2.2 but at the mean time I wonder is there anything I can do to get over this error? It seems strange that I am still on 3.2.1 but iTunes doesn't allow me to store to the same version. Can it be the version of iTunes I am using? (22.214.171.124)
