How To Block Sites Or Prevent Deleting The History?
Sep 24, 2010
Not sure if this is the right forum but seemed best choice. Is there a way to either block certain sites or prevent deleting the history on the iPad? Ideally, I'd like to block the sites...but I'd really like to know how to stop users from clearing the history.
Following iOS 7 update, is there a shortcut for deleting 'History' aside from 'Settings/Safari/Clear History? I can not video anything any more. There's no reaction when I tap the 'Video' option with Camera...only 'Photo' is highlighted in yellow.
Has anyone found a way to block out profanity or access to xxxx sites on ipad? Net Nanny and others have good ones for Mac, but not ipad or iphone yet. The parental controls on the ipad aren't what I'm looking for. I don't want to add every website.
When I open my AOL mail with my iPad and read my mail it is automatically removed from my the main (New Mail) page on my AOL account. On AOL I can "Mark as new" an email if I want to keep it on top (on the main "New email" page). I want this to continue. Now, after checking an email on my iPad, when I go back to AOL on my desktop, any message that I checked on my iPad is gone.
I can send the email from my iPad to a folder I create in AOL (such as "Saved mail") but I would prefer the emails just stay on the main AOL page. Anyway to do this or to "Mark as new" from the iPad?
I have "Ask Before Deleting" in the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" tab on the iPad turned on.
Had ipad since Christmas and our 3 yr old use's it more than anyone since we download the disney books. I'm not sure if there is a setting but she will be messing around an press an app button to delete and she comes running saying "there shaking again!" and has moved the apps on the bottom taskbar to a page by themself. Is there a setting anywhere to disable deleting apps so she doesnt do this, a couple of time she has moved app buttons to other pages etc. Ipad is still on software 3.2.2
I want to delete my safari URL history. Sounds easy right? It really isn't.
So I've gone into Settings>Safari>... then i've clicked 'Clear History' & the 'Clear Cookies and Data' button. This doesn't work.
I've also opened up Safari and clicked on the Booked shaped button at the top left, and clicked cleared history... This has only cleared the browsing history but has not cleared the URL auto predict history.
For example when i want to visit YouTube in Safari..... i click on the Safari App... Then i would click on the URL bar to input youtube.com... So I type Y first... then it would still list all the sites i have previously visit starting with Y....
That's what i want to delete. So how do i delete the predicted URL or the URL history?

I have an iPad that is to be used, among other things, by an autistic boy in school. While he is in school, I would like to be able to block all the apps except the educational one that he is to use in class. Is there any way to block the usage of all apps except for one?
So i did the download of the updates to my ipad. In the past hour i have had a ton of errors, lost all chat history, facetime history, web browsing history, facebook errors, games that wont work, and even worse, email issues. I had a pop up, a separate window with safari that refered to my wife's email addy... Wtf? I was in her email account....on my ipad so i exited out of respect. What the hell is happening, is this because we are on the same network.
I am using iPad (1) with IOS 5.1. Yesterday I cleared my history file in bookmarks, and also cleared it in Settings, along with the cookies. Today I notice that the History file no longer tracks anything...it's always blank when I look at it through Bookmarks, and I have been visiting many websites. What's wrong, and how can I fix it to track again? I called Apple Support...they don't know.
