This is happening to only certain websites. Unfortunately, the work ones that I need to access. Error message: Cannot open page?Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost?I reset the wifi and the password, I also rebooted several times.
Ever since I replaced my old iPad with this current Air I've been experiencing problems with the connection to our BT Homehub wireless router.
I never had any connection problems with my previous iPad, also both of our iPhones, another earlier iPad and a couple of laptops are also not a problem.
So, the issue with my Air. When just web browsing it wasn't a problem, it used to just stop doing anything when I tried to download a film from Sky for example or apps from the App Store. Although it suggested it was connected to the Internet it just used to stop the download and I'd just get the spinny circle at the top of the screen. This happened fairly regularly and was resolved by switching the Wi-Fi off and on again in settings.
However, now I've updated it to the current IOS it's worse, now locking up when browsing and on occasion I've has to switch it off and back on. Some times it suggests it's lost the Wi-Fi connection but more often it just stops receiving data and just freezes the page?
Interesting thing occurring on my iPad. If I open a new tab in safari or open a link on a page, it goes to the wanted page. But then switches to a graphic saying something about "someone doesn't like you, and you f**ked up" it then goes to a website, either a phone tracking website or something called [URL] This doesn't just happen on one website I visit, it occurs on numerous websites.
I started creating App groups and put these on last page of ipad. This last page became full however, other previous pages were not full. When I tried to add another App group to this last page it appeared but another App group disappeared and I cannot find it anymore. Where did it go and how do I get it back?
I am tethering my iPad 2 to my iPhone 4 via WiFi. Both devices are running iOS5. When my iPad goes to the lock screen, it losses the connection. I have to go back to my iPhone, turn the Hotspot to off then on, then reconnect my iPad. This is a pain since I have to keep my iPad from locking in order to maintain the Hotspot connection. I guess the other option would be to disable lock screen but that leaves my iPad vulnerable to unauthorized access.
In my House, I use Sprint overdrive 3G/4G. My computers connect to this hotspot using WiFi. This is the device I have -http://mobilebusiness.sprint.com/broadband/index.html?pid=4&id9=vanity:overdrive?id9=SEM_Google_P_Sprint_Mobile_BroadbandWhen I connect to my Sprint Overdrive 3G/4G over WiFi - iPad drops the connection and says subscribe to AF&T Cellular Plan.Even though my i have 3G in my iPAD, I have kept that only when I travel to a different city. It is frustrating to see iPad connects to Sprint Overdrive 3G/4G - but after 2 minutes drops the connection. My other 2 laptops have no problems - it is only iPad 16G 3G that I have - cannot connect to it.
I use my iphone4 as a personal hotspot to connect my ipad3 to the internet. The problem is that I lose the connection regularly. The ipad then cant find my iphone as a possible wifi connection and the only way I can get it back is to go back to settings in the iphone, go to personal hotspot and turn it off and then back on again.
I'm looking for some advice regarding the iPad and Office 2HD. It's for a friend who is working offshore, so is unable to get online.
He has been working on a word document using Office 2HD on the iPad for the last 7 days. He's been saving his work at the end of each day, then opening it the following day to continue writing.
He opened the file today, wrote a few pages, and then saved it as normal. He then fell asleep with the iPad in hand and with the file still open, and woke up to a blank page. He pressed undo several times but nothing happened. He powered off the iPad and turned it back on, opened the file but it was still a blank page. He's checked to see if it has saved anywhere else under any other name, but it hasn't.
Is there any possibility of recovering the lost work? Just to be clear, the file itself is still there, but it is now just a blank word document.
Now for the first time, you can share the high-speed data connection on your iPad. If your carrier supports it, iPad can act as a personal hotspot for connecting up to five devices — such as a MacBook Air, an iPod touch or another iPad — over Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or USB.
I use a Sprint Mi-Fi so I have 4G or 3G wifi internet available anywhere I go.However, my iPad always seems to lose the connection to the Sprint mifi unit, which is located not more than 12" from the iPad.Randomly, I get an error message on the iPad that says I lost the mi-fi connection. Is there a reason for this? The mifi shows a strong connection to the network.
I am living at a place with patchy network coverage.I hardly cannot use the ipad because of the "network lost" message popping up every second minute. How to disable this one?Affects my iPhone as well.Information : iPhone OS 3.1.3.
ipad wireless connection working ok for months... then nothing. ipad wont accept any password. I have changed router password and that works ok as have internet on imac with cable connection. Ipad just wont accept pw and tells me "unable to join network....".
Somehow it seems like my Ipad has been high-jacked! I lost connection with my WIFI at home. Since trying to reconnect, another WIFI connection pops up on in my settings. Have been spending hours trying to figure it out.
I am moving away and finally decided to connect the ipad to my pc. I just updated my pc with xp service pack 3. When i connect the ipad to the pc, im lucky if iTunes recognizes it (maybe 1/5 times) and it tells me that it requires an update.I agree to the update but within a few minutes my internet connection is lost. This pc is on a wireless connection. The wireless is still active as my iPad still has internet as well as the other hard wired pc in the house.
Even if i do not open iTunes and initiate the "download and install updates" option, my Internet connection is lost on this pc. The computer no longer recognizes my wireless usb key, and the only solution is to restart the computer, nothing else seems to work.Obviously the iPad update has not occurred since the internet is lost within 2-3 minutes of starting the update!
I am at my wits end with this iPad. I just want to update it, and then transfer some music and video to it- doesn't seem like too much to ask. I have previously been using it only for a few small apps and an ereader.
I lost connection to the internet in my home. Now when I tried to go on the internet on my i pad, it comes up with a box that says to put in the password. i put in the correct password, and it keeps saying It is not correct.
I'm trying to sync photos from laptop to IPad, it goes through the first 3 stages ok then I get an error message "the IPad could not be synced because the connection to the IPad was lost". This is very annoying as my IPad is clearly connected (by cable) and is displaying as such on the laptop.
I went onto my home wi-fi network before work today and getting to my mail and internet was working fine. Got to work and went to my mail again and I get a message that the connection to server failed. So I went into my network setting and went to wi-fi and check the DHCP setting and so the ipad is giving it self a self assign address. So I go to another wi-fi in our building and try and connect. Again self assign address. I then go to a Airport base station in our office and it gets an address. Now for the strange part. My boss can take his ipad and get an address from both networks that I can't. Using the Airport base station I can get to the internet but I can't get my mail. I have Comcast and Yahoo and neither mail server will connect.
My email has been working fine on both devices until last night. Now both say "Cannot get email. connection to server failed. " Weird that it's on both. I've tried shut down and restart to no avail.I'm now thinking this has something to do with my ISP and mail provider and not the devices.
I have had my Ipad 2 since February and today I lost my WIFI connection to FIOS internet. I have tried to logon to the network but the password does not work. I have heard that this happens once in a while. How can I recover my connection.
