Footers Stay Over The Text In Safari

Apr 14, 2010

When I go to a site like CBS Marketwatch, the footer at the bottom of the page stays over the text and moves with the page when you scroll up or down. I can also get this to happen with bbhybrids.net. It happens on my iPod touch so I think it is a Safari problem.

Safari Bookmarks Stay At The Bottom Of The List?

Dec 8, 2011

Whenever I add a bookmark on my iPad or iPhone, it automatically gets put at the bottom of the list. Then I hit edit and drag it wherever I want. After I hit done though, it always goes back to the bottom. I'm not sure if it is due to an iCloud glitch but it's been bugging me lately.

Text Search In Safari

Nov 24, 2010

Apple's iOS 4.2 page, in which the new OS is presented and briefly explained, includes the information, "Find text on web pages: In Safari, you can do a quick text search to find and highlight specific words and phrases on even the longest web pages."The iPad _iOS4_User_Guide.pdf, however, seems to make no mention of this feature, nor can I see any obvious way of searching a page in Safari itself. Is this something still to be incorporated in Safari, or am I missing something (very obvious, perhaps)?Information : iMac 27" Mac OS X (10.6.4) iPad WiFi 32GB.

Text Overlapping When Viewing Pdf In Safari

Jun 8, 2010

When opening certain types of pdfs from a link from a private site for work, some of the text is overlapping in the document. Particularly when there are bullets and tables. These are instructional documents that were originally created in InDesign with lots of steps, tables, bullets, etc. I opened several other pdfs from various other sites, all of the pdf's seemed to work seamlessly. What could cause these types of pdfs to malfunction on the iPad and how do I fix it?

Unable To Select Text In Safari

Nov 12, 2010

I am a minister and have access to several sites with Bible translation. With my iPad I cannot seem to select text so I can copy and paste it into Pages. These sites are public domain so there is no copyright problem. I can do this on my MacBook Pro with Safari, but not with iPad Safari. Any ideas why not. I actually was able to do it once, but then I could not duplicate the action. Information : MacBook Pro 2.2 Ghz. Mac OS X (10.6.2).

Highlight Hidden Text In Safari

Sep 29, 2010

Often in blogs and chat boards, so-called "spoiler information" is written in the same color text as the background, to prevent the casual reader from stumbling acoss revelations they do not want to know. Hightlighting the text with the cursor will reveal the white text against a now blue-colored background (for instance). Selecting such text on the iPad simply produces a blue box. Is there something I'm missing here or is this yet another example of Safari on the iPad being vastly inferior to its desktop counterpart? Information : MacBook Core Duo 2.0 Mac OS X (10.6.4) 2GB RAM/500GB 7200 HD.

Safari Unable To Recognizing Some Text Entry Fields

Aug 22, 2010

I have noticed that there are some instances where Safari and other browsers don't recognize a field on a web page as being one for data entry. I run a number of websites using the Joomla content management system and the editor for entering content is a wysiwyg editor. When the editor is in the wysiwyg mode, Safari, Eyebrowse, and iCab do not recognize that I can type into the editor. If I toggle the wysiwyg mode, I can enter data with no problem.I have tested 5 different editors plugins, and each has the same result. I have a work around for the time being, and have put in a bug report to Apple. Has anyone else had a similar problem and has anyone found a solution?Information : 2 GHz Intel Core Duo Mac Mini, iPad 3G 64GB Mac OS X (10.6.3)

PDF Files Show Garbled And Overlying Text On Safari

Sep 7, 2010

I have a 3 page sample of a book on my website (generated from InDesign) that reads fine on the Mac Safari and other programs on the Mac.

However, the PDF will only show garbled, overlying text when viewed on the iPad Safari and PDF HD. It is not file size related as I have an 8-page newsletter nearly four times the size of file and also created in InDesign --> PDF that views just fine.

I have exported the PDF and also print to PDF as a new file and it still comes out a mess.

The graphics and music illustrations are ok, some lines of text, and titles. The fonts used are Times TT and Helvetica. There is also a IPA linguistic font used. Basically all other text in the three pages is just garbage.

Anyone else see this happening and how can I fix the situation so clients can see the sample on iPad? Can the imbedded EPS files in the document be what is fouling things up? The illustrations are essential for the sample from the book.

IPad Mini :: Changing Text Size In Safari?

Sep 8, 2014

The text size on some websites is too small.

It seems there is no way to increase the text size in Safari on the iPad mini.

The text size saved in general iPad preferences does not effect the Safari browser.

This function is normal in most browsers. Odd that it is not available on a device that obviously has a small screen!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
