After installing the latest update, I got an "Error 9" message, and now my iPad won't get past the "set up this iPad? " screen.

My iPad2 is 1.5 years old. I updated iTunes & the iPad last night, but then I got this "Error 9" message, telling me I had to restore my iPad. I could deal with having to reenter all of my personal data, but the iPad won't start again. It turns on, but asks to be hooked up to iTunes. When asked if I would like to restore from iTunes, I say yes. Then it takes time to copy files onto the iPad. If I look at the iPad via iTunes, it shows I have apps, photos, music, etc., but when I try the iPad, it gives me the original multilingual "Hello" screen and asks to be plugged to iTunes.

Steps I have taken:

- Checked for updates (there are none)

- Used different USB cords.

- Restarted the computer (a MacBook Pro, OSX 10.9.4, Processor: 2.53 GHz Intel Core Duo, Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3), and tried it all over again.

Any ideas?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.4
