As The Beatles once said....Help! Lost all purchased Beatles

So yesterday I was excited for The Beatles box set and promptly downloaded it onto my iPad while at work. I watched everything download just fine and even listened to some of it at work and on the way home.

As soon as I got home I wanted to get it backed up so I plugged it into my PC and let it sync. After the sync was done I was going to play some of the music while I did chores is the house, however almost all of The Beatles content was gone! There are 29 items left of the box set that actually synced...the rest has been deleted from both the iPad and the computer.

At work yesterday - did you download direclty onto your iPad, or did you purchase on another computer and then sync onto your iPad? If the latter - your iPad can only sync most things (including media) with one computer, so when you set it to sync with your home computer the latter would erase any media that was on your iPad (but it would still be safe on the computer you first downloaded it onto).

If you downloaded directly onto your iPad, I believe there's a setting not to sync material purchased on the device - but that shouldn't erase it on your iPad. I had something similar once happen on my iPhone, and when I did a hard reset to the iPHone it appeared again on the device.

In any event, assuming you use the same iTunes account on all your devices, I believe you can download it again free of charge on your home computer throught the iTunes store... but with a $100 purchase, I'd make doubly sure before trying it... 🙂

I purchased it on my iPad and downloaded it on my iPad which is the same account I have on my home computer.

With apps you can download again but not with music purchases. 😟

I have an email into the customer service department. If it was just a song or a regular album yes I would just buy it again and consider it a loss but with a $150 box set...I really hope the Apple (Apple Corp. and Apple Inc.) gods come through for me.
