Does the iPad work with a PC? I have PC's for my business but I want the iPad. Do I have to have a mac or macbook to sync, backup, charge, etc? Please give me details on the ease of use if I stay PC based but have a iPad. Thanks!
The iPad syncs its contents via iTunes. You can get iTunes for PC.
Your iPad content is backed up via iTunes.
Charging can be done with the included USB cable, but it's dead slow (more like a "trickle charge"). Otherwise, use the included AC Adaptor. The USB cable hooks into it for use in a wall outlet.
The iPad works with any platform that runs iTunes. Connecting, syncing and downloading work fine on the Windows platform. You do need the latest version of iTunes. I forget what version number that is.
Now, do I run out and buy the first version or wait for the 3G? I'm still going to use my blackberry for making and receiving telephone calls. I can't deal with two phone numbers.
iPad's aren't phones. The 3G is so you can access the internet when wifi is not available. If you don't need to do that, the 3G won't be of much value to you.
