Is there an app for this?

Hey guys,

I’m thinking of buying an ipad even though I have some extremely negative feelings for Steve BUT! I’m putting that aside in recognition of a very good product here. Now I’m thinking of buying the 499 ipad for books mostly which it is very very good for. Now I’m about to go into college and I'm pretty sure that the cost of books for 4 years will greatly exceed 500 so this is why I am considering it.

The only thing that is currently holding me back is.

Notes.

I’ve already found a pretty sweet stylus for capacitive touch screens online; now all I need is an app.

I would like an app that can take my handwritten notes from my sweet stylus and convert it to text (kind of like the Micro Courier concept video) and have a decent UI for organizing them by dates or w.e

Do you guys know of any apps that can meet my needs?

Thanks a tun

PS. Any student discounts available?

I just searched the Apps store and got 155 hits for "Notes" apps.
Anything from sticky notes or full featured notes taking and organizing.

I personally use "PaperDesk LT" it was free and I haven't needed to upgrade yet.
It allows writing notes, drawing, typing notes, recording audio notes, saving, etc...

You can go to itunes apps store or apple.com and search for notes apps and see what's available.

I've tried two highly rated apps for writing (neither does character recognition though) and have used them with my pogo stylus ... but honestly, i am disappointed in the experience. You can not write as small as you normally would, and it's harder to read than you normal handwriting would be. So if I were you, and I'm not (!!!), I might opt for typing with the keyboard instead. Also, the two I tried do not allow you to wrest your hand on the screen as you write (which is the natural way to do it). Trying to keep your hand elevated the entire time might get tiring for you. Just a thought.
