File size limit for PDF documents.

It seems that the iPad has a limit of 30MB for displaying PDF files. This is rather small. Did Apple set this limit, or is there a technical reason for doing so.

Not sure what the limitation is exactly but an app like Goodreader might be the thing for larger PDFs

From their site:

"Faithful users of GoodReader have reported flawless performance with files over 1 gig in size; but that's only one of the many features that makes GoodReader the best app of its kind."

I bought this app last week and it seems good value for organising PDFs and has some nice features for uploading files to iPad via a web interface on your computer.

I also have problems in reading pdf file. Mine is ipad 3.

the file is a scanned book about 500 pages, and its size is about 6.7M. The first tens of pages can be correctly displayed, but the remained can not. I have tried the following methods and the results are the same.

1. read by Goodreader

2. download to local disk in Dropbox, and read in Dropbox

3. download to local disk in Evernote, and read in Evernote
