Hi,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to restore deleted files from a iPad1? Any software existing for this purpose?

I have no backup - I lost all my unique photos in a sync with a new pc that deleted all the files (photos) on the iPad and ended up adding two unwanted pictures from the pc instead of transferring the photos from the iPad TO the pc.

And as I said - no backup was made - don't know why.

As an alternative would it be possible to dump the entire volume on a hdd and then work on that with conventional tools like File Scavenger etc.?

I'm willing to jailbreak the iPad if needed.

Any info would be highly appreciated.

Kind regards Michael M, Copenhagen, Denmark.

It *must* be on the device

I shut down the old iPad (and moved to iPad2) at the time of the mishap... I believe the files still are on the disk though not directly accessable - right?

Kind regards, Michael.

even if they are on the device you have to remember that (if you think of it like a computer) the 'flash drive' is encrypted and even if you were somehow able to pull the contents of the drive you would not be able to decrypt them,
but because you have said you you have synced the iPad to a new computer there is a chance the files have been overwritten already (if only by app data being added/moving about on the device)
