iBooks question. Can it read?

So I browsed around and searched on here and the web a bit and couldn't find a clear answer on this. Is it possible to have iBooks read you the book like the Kindle does. I mean this is a much much more powerful machine than the kindle so I can't believe it doesn't.

Any help would be appreciated. Again sorry if this is a repost.

Not yet. You can get it to read the page by turning on Voice Over in the Accessibility setting, but it won't read the whole book like Kindle. Kindle does have a few advantages over the iPad (you can read it on the beach, it has free cellular service, it's half the weight, its battery lasts a week and it will read your book to you), so maybe you need both? But the biggest drawback to the Kindle is that it's not an iPad! 🙂
