iPad email not working. Unable to access email settings.

I have a user with an iPad who has this problem.

A couple of nights ago, email stopped working on her iPad. The email application appears to be checking for new mail, but it never completes the process.

I tried to go into mail, contacts, calendar settings, but when I select it, the settings application freezes. I can force it to quit, but trying it again produces the same result.

I have performed a hard reset. No difference.

She has one email account. It is an Exchange server.

I have tried with and without iCloud active. Same result.

I have upgraded from 4.3.5 to 5.1. Problem still exists. I see that lots of other people seem to be having this problem.

Does anyone have a solution?

Yes, I tried hard reset. Also tried backup and restore. Next I'll have to try resetting it to factory defaults and manually re-adding the account to see if the issue occurs again.

I might be able to change some settings with the user's email account to see if that makes a difference.

I see many mentions of similar problems in the user forums, but no actual solutions.

sorry Ethan, i did not make myself clear.Factory restore is when u connect to tunes and press restore (not to get mixed up with anything else). Before u do that u want to back up, but not to restore from it. After that u want to set up her exchange account only and see if it works (and it will). After that u restore from her back up and see if that works and come back wit results
