Not all my apps reload after taking it back to factory settings. Including iBooks

I took my IPad back to factory settings. When trying to reload my apps, some will not reload including my Gmail and iBooks. The buttons next to them say Install, but when I hit apply or sync buttons, nothing happens. I also tried dragging the app icons to the screen displays which did not work. This is with the iPad attached to my macbook in the apps screen selected. Help

It certainly can't be a Restrictions issue since both apps are rated 4+. You didn't accidentally update the apps in iTunes on the Mac and now they are not compatible with your iOS which you are showing as iOS 5.1.1? If that's what happened, you might still be able to download the older versions of the apps by going to purchased tab of the App store on your iPad - in the Not on This iPad section - and find the apps there and tap on the app to bring up the prompt that tells you that there is an older version available that you can download. That will work as long as there are still older versions of the apps available in the App Store.

How are you trying to download those apps? If you are using the App Store app on your iPad you are most like encountering the fact that the apps in the App Store are not compatible with iOS 5.1.1 which is what is on your iPad according to your signature. You'll need to copy those apps from itunes on your computer where, hopefully, they have been stored.
