ipad app related question?

I commute almost 2 hours by train each day. I've been reading books and news on my itouch by downloading New York Times on my itouch when I wake up. I used to do that with the WSJ but now the app only works when you are connected. What is the story with these two apps with the ipad? Or can I just log on with ipad 3Gs and forget about the App?

If you have the 3G iPad, then no problem. But both the WSJ app for the iPad (it's different than the one for the iPhone or Touch) as well as the iPad's NY Times Editors' Choice app download the complete file so that you can use it offline later, if you want. On the NY Times app, you won't get the photos offline, however. Be aware that the iPad app for the NY Times is not the same as that on the iPhone. It's not as complete. The iPhone app must also be online in order to work. Also be aware, that unless you subscribe to the WSJ (about $5 a month), you won't get many of the articles.
