Can't delete messages from the mail search results

I just sent this feedback to apple.

Does this strike anyone as a bit loony?

snip! -----

As with the iPhone.. there is no way to delete an e-mail from the search results. eg. go to your inbox.. search your inbox for a sender or subject or something.. In the results screen there's no "Edit" button to do batch deletes.. there's no way to swipe delete and when you actually click on the mail to read it the trash icon is greyed out. Why is this? It makes absolutely no sense at all.

I am experiencing the same problem. I am using Exchange. When I search for emails, I cannot move or delete any of the emails in the search results. The icons are always greyed out. Very very frustrating. what is strange is that there is an EDIT button at the bottom. When I click it though, I cannot select any of the emails in the search results, except maybe for one or two items (which those I can move or delete). Puzzling.
