Just received an email from Apple. Looks like there will be a separate line for reservations...

When you come in to pick up your iPad, you'll be directed to a line for those with reservations. We'll have Specialists ready to help you set up your iPad, free workshops, and more. We look forward to seeing you at the store.

this is obvious. but the majority of people there in the morning will be the ones that have reservations anyway i would imagine. so the line will be long.

I still haven't received a single email about my reservation. Is this the first one you've received?

Never mind. The second I posted this I got the same email.

It also sounds like the people doing the selling won't be the people helping with the setups... so the line should hopefully move fairly quickly.

I think Apple has learned from mistakes over past launches. I have expectations that Saturday will be one well oiled machine at the Apple store.

I got the e-mail as well. Do we just show up with a print out of the e-mail or how will the employee know I reserved one?

Probably couldn't hurt... but if I were a betting man I would say your name is in a database somewhere.

I would bring a copy just in case & I figure Apple to have a list of all the reservist. Got mine this morning and only three more days to go. Finally the wait is about to be over for some of us. :D

Crap, reserved a 16GB iPad and want to switch to 32GB. Any chance I can still get a 32 on Saturday?

I didn't have the money to pre-order the iPad in time but I have it now. I'll be getting out of work on Saturday at around 2PM and I would like to go to the apple store to pick up an iPad if they're still available.

What do you guys think the chances are that they'll have some still available? The store is about an hour from my house so driving to the store only to be turned away empty handed would be a huge bummer. So my question is this: Go to store after work on Saturday or pre-order for April 12th shipping?

I would say just give the store a call when you get off work. They should be able to tell you what the situation looks like. Good luck though! :)

You'd have to wait until after 3PM and hope there are some left. Best advice is to buy the 16GB around 2:30PM and wait until 3PM to see if there are 32GB models left. If there are, you can always return the 16GB (or sell it), and if there is not at least you still got the 16GB model.

If you reserved one, you have until 3pm to pick it up. I wouldn't worry they decide at 1pm no one is in the "reserved" line and sell them. I think your fine as long as you show up prior tot he 3pm deadline. If no reservation, it's a crap shoot if they still have them. Calling would be smart, as they will know approx. how many they have left and what the lines look like.

I don't have one reserved. I probably should have found somewhere else to post my question sorry. I guess I'm gonna have to call on Saturday.

Yeah that's your best bet. I'm still unclear why you didn't reserve one as you didn't need to have the money up front or anything, and it wasn't a lock in to purchase one.

I guess I didn't read into it enough. I had no idea you didn't have to pay until you picked it up. Silly me!
