I am currently running iOS 4.2 for the iPad. Is there no AirPlay yet in the video options? Does anyone have that or is it not in this beta?

Also there is the print option in the photo app but not in the iWork apps.

Apps have to be updated to utilize the print option, so you have to wait until 4.2 is officially released for apple to update iWork.

AirPlay does work, if you have an Airport Express or the new Apple TV.

Oh ok so as soon as my new Apple TV arrives the AirPlay option will show up?

I don't think many people realize that were going to be able to use AirPlay on the Desktop as well, not just iOS devices.

That isn't airplay, it's just streaming content from your computer, the old appletv can already do this. Also I heard this asked at the apple event on a video and they said it's just streaming not airplay.

I think the difference is, you cant push the content from your computer on to the device, you just have excess to it. Airplay pushes content from your mobile devices.

I know the airplay icon shows up in the default apple media player, but wouldn't games, or pandora have to build it in. You wouldn't be able to do it without the app being updated

a better place
Once you've selected the output source in the current beta it is remembered. I've been playing games like tap tap on my iPad with audio being pumped to my airport express and into my DD Amp. Sounds great.

Anyone having success with Airplay and the older Apple TV? I have airplay functions from my Macs, which see the 2007 Apple TV and stream to it no problem. My iPad, however, running 4.2 does not display the airplay option.

Curious if there are any older Apple TV users that have gotten it to work.

Nope-not supported and never will be according to Apple.

Yea it doesn't work which is so dumb because you can currently use the apple tv as a AirTunes receiver through iTunes on the Mac. Seems like they could at least implement audio streaming on the older apple tv.
