Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8C148 Safari/6533.18.5)

Is there anything out there that allows you to view multi-page Tiff files on the iPad? Currently no matter what I have tried (including goodreader) I can only see the first page.

Thanks

You can have multi-page TIFFs?

It's new to me too, but apparently so. A TIFF can act like a container for multiple pages rather like a PDF. I've never encountered it in practice before.

OP, perhaps you should send a support request to GoodReader. Maybe they can work it out in an update.

Yes... we have multiple page drawings at the company I work for, and they are going nuts trying to figure out why they won't display past the first page.

Maybe I should have posted this in the iPad APP forum too? Not sure if anyone has developed anything that handles them.... it might be an OS limitation or bug as well.

On my side issue. Animated gifs.

Well there is a surprise. Another thing the iPad can't do, well, the photo app can't do it. Display animated gifs.

Oh well...................... :(

Not exactly a deal killer for me, but I feel bad if it is for you.

No, I'm not at all bothered really, however would be nice if they were supported, IMHO they should be supported as I'm sure some people like them, and if I was in charge I'd of made sure the photo app did support them as they are a long established format.
It does not hurt for them to work.

Most picture viewing programs (Mac, PC, iOS, etc.) don't show the animation on animated gifs. You have to view them in a browser for that. It's not an iOS shortcoming.

Well, it may not be an iOS shortcoming, but it is indeed a photo app shortcoming.

And yes, you are quite correct, many PC and MAC picture viewing programs don't display animated gif's correctly also.

And they are wrong also.

An Animate gif has been around years and is a very well known graphic format. There is no reason, other than lazyness for it not to be supported by any image viewing app. The ones written by better programmers who wish to give full support do handle this format.

It's not rocket science!

This excellent program is free and does support them: http://www.faststone.org/index.htm
