File access or transfer

Is there a way to access files (e.g. Word, Excell) that are on my desktop PC via my wifi network? The Apple saleman said no; you'll have to somehow use iTunes to transfer the file.

If I have to use iTunes, how do I do that? And where do the files end up? If I boot up an app to edit one of these files, does it ask me which files to open?

Thanks,

Cliff

Many answers, depending on what you use. You can use an app like GoodReader, and the files will be stored within that app. You can use Air Sharing, or iDisk. If you buy apps that promise Office compatibility they will let you use the iTunes approach, and again store the files within the app. You can also simply mail yourself these files, and Mail will handle them, at least up to a point.
