Battery life getting shorter and shorter...

My battery life has gotten shorter and shorter over time. I've pretty much foliowed all of the basics, as explained in that post here re: battery management, draining fully once a montn then fully charging, turning Bluetooth, WiFi and location services off, brightness down, etc. I'd guess I'm getting 5 hours full operating time; it also seems to take less time to charge. This device always seemed to be a little shy of the advertised 10 hours, but it didn't matter that it might be only 8 or 9. But now it has to be addressed.

Any other ideas? Have seen a mix of posts about this subject. May need to replace the battery or...the entire device?

Thanks in advance......

Interesting. I think mine also seems to go down a bit, but it's really hard to tell because i never made any controlled tests at the beginning so I have nothing to really compare it to except my impression of working with it.

Some games are definitely battery draining. Web browsing and watching a movie through netflix seems very easy on the battery. One hour of movie watching (netflix) was about the equivalent of 10-12% battery life.

I have the 3G 64GB version & notice just the exact opposite... battery-life seems longer, each time the battery is almost completely depleted to less than 10%, then fully re-charged back to 100%

To get optimal performance & time from the battery in the iPad, iPhone, iPod, it will retain a full charge longer, if you completely deplete/drain the battery to 0% dead & then fully recharge. The basic principle with most any re-chargeable battery, is memory

Clearly, this is inconsistent. While I'm not sitting around counting the 30 days when I'm supposed to drain the battery to zero and give it a full charge, I'm certainly not doing anything that could possibly force the battery to drain so quickly. I guess i have to take this into an Apple store and talk to someone at the genius bar. I'm at a loss otherwise.

Thanks for the input.
