Check to see if your restrictions are on and if it has restricted your iTunes app.

Go to iPad settings/restrictions .

Thanks for the quick response but all restrictions are OFF. I was not familiar with iTunes and took the title (iTunes) to mean "tunes" only. Since I do not use my iPad to listen to tunes, I deleted the iTunes app. Now I want to sync my outlook calendar and contacts with the iPad. Looks like the easiest way to do that is via iTunes.

Well for me, I didn't use iTunes to do get my outlook calendar and contacts. I just added an email account. To do this, you will need to go to iPad settings/Mail, contacts, calendar and add an account. There, simply enter your email address and password. You can choose to turn on contacts, calendar, email and notes. Your outlook calendar can then be viewed on your calendar app.

By the way...I just deleted your other post as it was a duplicate of this one. Please do not do this since it makes it hard for other members to read and help you of there are multiple threads of the same topic present. It is also against forum rules.

Sorry for the duplicate post but I have a iPad WITH a retina display. I did not know if it was a 3 or 4. This form lists the iPad 3 "New iPad" while the iPad 4 is the "retina display" iPad. I discovered that I have the version 3 so I duplicated the post in the iPad 3 section. I will try your suggestion for syncing with outlook. I still would like to get iTunes back. Thanks again for your input.
