I know others have had this issue, maybe everyone, but is this an issue that a replacement will fix. This is a pretty crazy problem. I am sitting here using the device plugged in and I am losing battery power. How can apple justify this??

You are pretty light on facts there.

What are you plugged into? What cables are you using? What tasks are you performing?

Sorry. The wall charger that comes with the iPad. I am using safari, I heart radio app and brightness is at 100 percent. Even with that said, how does this thing lose battery power when plugged in ?!

Could be that your adapter or the source that you're plugged in isn't supplying the necessary voltage to keep the battery afloat. I would try plugging into a different outlet and see if that fixes the issue.

Yep, the biggest drain to the iPad is the screen. Turn it down to 50% or less.

The battery is somewhere close to 70% larger than the iPad2. With about the same battery life, that means that something in the new iPad draws more power. That would be the new screen. I run mine about 50% brightness. With it at 100% your are drawing a lot of power.

I must say, I have this same issue... I'm pretty sure it's the app I use (Nanostudio, a music app that uses lots of cpu resources, but still, it's frustrating.)

Anyway...I find that using the iPad while plugged in (with the power adapter that came with the unit, nothing wrong with my outlet, and my brightness is always lingering around 50%) and still the battery will drain while it is plugged in.

I have absolutely no other issues with the iPad, the screen is great (no yellow or pink, at least if there is, I don't notice it, and no backlight bleeding,) and everything works perfect as far as iOS. I'm assuming this is just something I have to live with when using certain apps/game that use so much cpu power but it's the only device I've ever owned that drains battery when plugged in.

If I bought a larger wattage 3rd party charger, do you think that would solve the issue?
