NOT happy with my Ipad screen

Since i got my Ipad I have looked after it very well, Always putting it back into its case after use to protect it.

When last night as I was cleaning it i noticed there was a small scratch on the screen. I not happy because apple go on about how strong there screens are and I have looked after it so well.

Does any one know how I could get the scratch out?

Cheers Jez

The iPad screen is more resistant to scratches than many screens (particularly plastic-front screens), but any screen can scratch under the correct circumstances. A small scratch is most likely to occur when a small bit of sand or other hard material gets on the screen or in the case and things move around. My guess is that this is what happened to you; your screen or your case picked up a tiny bit of hard debris and the scratch occurred when you slid the iPad in or out. If the case is at all tight, that could easily cause a scratch on just about any material.

If it's really a scratch, there will be no way to remove it. Whether any of the polishes such as iKlear would help mask the scratch and whether those polishes work without problems with the oleophobic coating I don't know. I wouldn't try any cleaner or polish on the iPad's screen without verifying from the manufacturer that the substance won't hurt the coating.

Good luck.

The screens are pretty tough, but not impervious to scratches. For example, you state that you take the iPad in and out of a case. Not sure which one you use, but a piece of salt or some other hard substance could get caught in there and scratch your screen. I never take my iPad out of its case, specifically because I don't want it scratched. When I do take it out, I use a can of air (not sure what they're called, but you can get them at all office supply stores), and blow out the accumulated stuff that gets trapped.

You cannot get the scratch out.
