How to force an iPad onscreen keybordd when wireless keyboard is nearby?

There doesn't seem to be any way to get an on-screen keyboard when the iPad is still connected to a wireless keyboard that may be in the next room. All I see is that I could un-pair the keyboard, and I guess I could pull the batteries out of the keyboard, but there's no way to force the keyboard off otherwise.

Any suggestions?

You have two options...

if the wireless keyboard is in front of you, push the eject key in the top right corner to bring up the on-screen keyboard on the iPad.

If the keyboard is too far enough to reach, you can just go to the bluetooth settings and turn bluetooth off.
