after about an hour still no email. i removed, synched, and put in manually all info. I called my ISP and they wouldn't help me. Says it's apples problem. I have even searched Google over the last week and i still can't figure out what's going on. Does anyone out there have a clue what the problem is?
I've set up my iCloud and iTunes accounts with no bother but I can't get my emails to work. I've entered all the details as instructed (and as I did before successfully on my iPad and iPhone) but I get a message saying my username or password is incorrect. It's most definitely not as I have checked and checked and checked. I have no problems accessing my mail over the website and my phone is still attached to the account, but my iPad will not accept my username and password! I've deleted and re-added the account countless times and saved the account and triple checked all the settings which are all completely correct
All of a sudden I am not able to send email with my yahoo account. I can receive email, but when I try to send emails they go to my outbox and I get an error message that says, 'username/password incorrect'. I have been using this account for months and have never had a problem until a couple of days ago.
Suddenly, now when I download email I get a message that my iCloud username or password is incorrect. I've never used iCloud and have never created a username or password. How can I disable iCloud or fix this problem so I don't constantly get this error message?
We just bought a new ipad and it is working great but the mail application is not working. Everytime when I click on mail it gives me the message - the mail cannot be picked up - username or password is incorrect - When I click settings to change any of these settings...the mail menu closes down....
My iPad4 is receiving -mails, but if I wish to reply, or just send and e-mail, it comes up with Cannot send e-mails The user name or password is incorrect etc ...... I have forgotten the password, so how do I correct this with a new password?
I have had this same issue on the iPhone for a few years and now have it on the iPad. I have setup my personal account and can successfully receive email. However, sending email is problematic as it always incurs the error:
Cannot Send Mail The user name or password for "SMTP:<my email address>@<ISP's SMTP server>" is incorrect.
The user name for my email account is my email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) and the SMTP server is of the normal form mail.isps_domainname.com.
The error message suggests that Apple's mail utility is joining the username with the SMTP address with the @ being the conjunction. If it is doing this, it is wrong as it is screwing up the user name. Is there anyway to stop the Mail utility from doing this?
I have two email accounts that I need to add to my Ipad. The first is a Gmail account which I had up and running in no time at all, quite easy to do actually. Unfortunately the same can't be said about my Lycos email account.I've tried several times to add my Lycos email account to my Ipad but with no success.I used the exact same method(Settings-Mail-Add Account)that I did when I added my Gmail account but like I said,no success.
I keep getting the same error message when I try to complete the process: "Cannot Get Mail-The username or password for pop.mail.lycos.com is incorrect."
This does not make any sense because I am entering the correct username and password. So having said all of that I was wondering if any other Lycos mail users out there have had the same problem in the past and how you fixed this problem? Or if anyone else knows how to rectify this issue? My Ipad is the 32g Wifi model.
I use my iPad very often and yesterday I was using it to connect it to the network I have to do exactly as I do on the iPod, connect it to the network and later on a screen appears asking me a username and a password which is obviously have. When I try to connect my iPad to the network it simply does not connect,it stays in the screen and does nothing.
I'm using an iPad Wifi with 3.2.1 and I am not the only one that is having a problem with Safari storing username and password for websites that need credentials.I cleared 'cookies', 'history' and 'cache' but that doesn't help.
The desired websites don't show a popup if I would like to store the username and password for a website.

I've just made three attempts to activate my micro sim in 72 hours. Each time I go through the registration process, nothing happens so I call back and they tell me I am not registered.I've just finished making my third attempt so HOPEFULLY this will finally work. If it does, no one has mentioned to me what the APN settings are. I really don't want to call back, I can't bare speaking to them again. The man at apple said it might either be 3internet or three.co.uk but he wasn't sure. Is there any username or password?
So here's my problem, one of my own making. I went into work for the first time tonight since buying my iPad. When I went to connect to teh wireless network it prompted me to enter my network username and password. I tried this but it didn't allow me to join. I figured I just got my password wrong so changed it to a new password in active directory and tried to join again on my iPad.
It's still not working so I can only assume that I mistyped my username when trying to join for the first time. My problem is that when I try to join the network now, it no longer prompts me for my username. What I want to do is re-enter my network username and password as if it was the first time I went to connect again. I've reset my network settings but this didn't work.
I don't know what I did--maybe it was a week or so ago when I purchased something and the iPad got a little wonky on me as I was entering my password and went back to the home screen--but now every time I enter the AppStore, or launch iTunes, I have to enter my username and password. How do I turn this off? Using a Wifi 64GB iPad received on Day 1.Information : Mac Pro Mac OS X (10.6.2) Radeon HD 4870, 30-inch Apple Cinema display, 4GB RAM.
I Downloaded Citrix receiver to access the Citrix server at office. in setup, I entered our Citrix portal website address, my username and password, and domain name. it must want something different, because I get "login failed" immediately. The IT person at work has no experience with Apple.
I can use Safari and then gmail but want to be able to use gmail from the 'mail' icon on the home screen. When I set up the account, the Ipad tells me the un and pw are not correct when I know they are-
How to get Safari to remember the username and password for the Macrumors website to login? This is on iPad 3 using the latest Safari.
I made sure in Settings for Safari that Autofill is turned on for names and passwords. I also cleared all cookies and history. But for the Macrumors web site, Safari still won't autofill. It does autofill for other websites fine.
