View 5 RepliesThe iPad is looking like it'll be great for my mom, especially with the camera connector kit. It'll supposedly let her import photos directly from a camera/SD card onto the iPad. Then, mom can organize/delete her photos via a nice touch interface. Awesome.I'd like to know if she can export those photos back to the SD card. Afterall, she'll want to get them printed at Walmart!

My partner is buying her mother an iPad for Christmas, and a camera which features geo-tagging.On the iPad user guide downloaded from the Apple support website, it doesn't specifically state that the Places feature requires a Mac. It states: "Photos organizes collections by Albums, Events, Faces, and Places. Places uses the location information encoded within each photo, and not all photos may have this information. Events and Faces must first be configured in iPhoto or Aperture on a Mac, then synced to iPad."But on the iPad Features section of the website, it states:"iPad works seamlessly with Faces and Places in iPhoto for the Mac, so you can view your photos not only by date and event but also by who's in them and where they were taken."
View 2 RepliesI've read some of the posts about people having issues viewing photos on the iPad in the same sort order that they have on Aperture and other Mac apps.
I'm considering purchasing the iPad for a kid as a laptop replacement. In other words, he would not be syncing to his photos on a laptop. The iPad would be his 'native' hardware. Is this possible?
Specifically:
1) Can he move his photos directly from his digital camera onto the iPad, then sort and do basic edits there? (Storage limitations understood)
2) Can he attach an external hard drive to his iPad, to store extra photos there?

I have read lots of reviews for the camera connection kit. The results are about 50/50 love it/hate it. The most common reason for people hating it is that it simply does not work with their particular camera/card. So I have 2 questions, one that is specific to my camera, and one general question:
1) Does anyone have any 1st hand experience using the kit with the Canon Rebel T1i?
2) For those of you who use this product with iPad 2 (regardless of camera brand): Once you have the photos uploaded, is there any means to manage them from the iPad 2 directly? That is, can I easily move the images to different folders? Can you even create folders on the iPad 2? (I don't own one yet, just trying to get the scoop!).
Is there an adapter I can buy? Can I transfer via Bluetooth?
I'm leaving for France Sunday with my iPad and I hate to have to bring my laptop just to sync photos.

I have a Nikon D90. I am told it should work with the Ipad Camera connector. Every time I do as told in the instructions. The camera file shows up, and then disappears or crashes. I called the Tech group and the guy said if it did not work there was nothing I could do. My D90 is less then a year old, so it should work like everyone else's.

I've got a Nikon D300s which shoots in motion jpeg format, 24 fps, 1280 x 780. See http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond300s/page19.asp. The file is saved with a .avi extension. I'm trying to view a 25 second clip that is 67 MB.When I try to sync with Aperture, the videos don't get imported despite having the "include videos" box checked when syncing. When I try to watch with VLC, it says the iPad may be too slow and, in fact, when I play the video in VLC all I get is audio with no moving picture.I don't get it. The video format, up to 35 mbps, is supposed to be one the iPad supports yet it doesn't work. I'd rather not have to re-encode the video to make it work on the iPad as this would not make my life easy. Mac OS X (10.6.5)
View 5 RepliesIs anyone else having trouble importing photos from a Nikon D3 to an iPad 3G? I have no trouble importing from a Nikon D70 but when I connect my D3, it just says "No Photos To Import" but there are 30 in there?

I have added some RAW .NEF Nikon photos to my iPad and notice the display quality is pixelated somewhat and terrible to look at. I read somewhere that the iPad apparently takes the thumbnail image and not the actual photo when importing.
Can anyone tell me if this is the case or am I doing something wrong? JPEG photos are displayed correctly, I really don't want to convert all my photos to .JPEG before adding to my iPad.

Hey guys I'm a long time apple fan and I just got my iPad. I love this thingHere's the thing though. I'm a dj and I have a couple of blogs and music services from which I download music (monthly subscriptions that are legal and paid).I want to be able to download these songs directly in the browser and import Ithem into iTunes on the iPad for immediate listening. What is the easiest way to accomplish this? I am already jailbroken.
