I use Gmail, with the default Ipad mail app.
I was emailed a code that I tried to paste into a browser window. The numeric code (as it often happens) was incorrectly formatted as a link, as the text was blue. I tried to highlight the text to copy it, but the magnifying glass was unable to find it. How can I cut and paste these kinds of text? Also, can I temporarily disable links in email, to avoid these situations.
Does anyone know where you can test the speed of the internet connection on the ipad? I've seen a few websites that say they used speedtest.net or speakeasy.net to compare the speed of the iPad vs the iPhone or their MacBook however both of those sites require flash so im not sure how they were able to do that. Does anyone know of a non-flash site to test internet speed?
View 1 RepliesI had to format my itunes pc. After I install it all over I cant syc. I authorized the pc and it wants to replace all my ipad staff with the pc that is empty now. I will loss all my media and apps.

Will we ever see a DVD drive on the Ipad? I bought the first generation Ipad and carried it back after 2 weeks of use because I felt it was lacking in some areas. Flash player and some apps not formatted for the Ipad being just a few, have they worked out these quirks with the newer Ipads??
I have some video that is formatted for Apple TV (I ripped them with handbrake using the Apple TV preset), that won't play on the iPad. Is there maybe a trick to play these videos on the iPad? Or maybe a fast way to batch convert them to a format that iPad can use
View 8 RepliesWanted to share a fix I have found for iPad problem when failing to sync photographs from itunes to ipad/iphone.Problem was that when photos are syncing it goes 'optimising photos' then fails at the first image saying roughly 'the image including xxxx.jpg failed cos it was incompatible to be displayed on the ipad'.
I solved this, I can see 100s of posts across the net from people with similar problems.I was mislead that it was to do with the jpgs having colour profiles that are incompatible, it was NOT.The problem was solved when I tried syncing from images kept on a memory stick instead of on the hard drive, and it worked... so why??? Well. The answer was found in that I tried another hard drive (as a D drive) and tried another external USB hard drive with photos on and they both behave perfectly. WHY??? BECAUSE they are all formatted as FAT32, whereas the main hard drive is formatted in NTFS.
I have been bothered by my iPad problem for days. A several days ago, I lost all my messages, contacts, photos and videos from my formatted iPad. I don't really mean to format it. It is absolutely an accident! So, how to get them all back.

1) In Week mode - Right arrow isn't functional. 2) In Week mode - In order to move to next week, the relevant section doesn't respond to touch. However, if the I click/touch the 3rd week, the page automatically flips to the 2nd week. For e.g. If the current view is July 11-17, and I need to flip to July 18-24, the app doesn't respond to a touch/click on July 18-24 section. However, if I touch/click July 25-31, the page automatically flips to week of July 18-24. The same problem doesn't exist for past weeks. It's always for the subsequent week.

I am using iPad 2 and have set up my iCloud account. All iCloud options are switched on except mail and notes but when I go to icloud. com all I get is the welcome careen and three options - to set up iCloud, to set up find my iPhone and t set up find my friends. How do I see my documents etc?

My iPad does't get past the security page on my hotel's wifi. I was able to do so with both my computer and my iPhone 3GS. WiFi here is managed by LeapNetworks. The problem is not connecting to the network. It is getting past the security. It brings up the security page, I put my username/password in, it cranks busily for a couple of minutes, and finally stops with nothing happening. This is not just this hotel. I had the same issue last Thursday at Reagan Airport. The problem is not consistent as the iPad worked as advertised at the Marriott hotel I stayed in prior to going to Reagan. I've tried all the suggestions to no avail. Why would the iPhone get through the security page but not the iPad? I'm tempted to return this thing to apple. I'd really appreciate any intel on a workaround and if Apple has this on their "fix" radar.
