Is anyone successfully using their iPad to control a Mac remotely using Back to My Mac (BTMM) or a 3rd party app such as Logmein or VNC? If so I'd be keen to learn if the experience is as good as using a Macbook pro.
I'd be very suprised if BTMM is supported, but perhaps it is doable if a keyboard and / or a mouse is attached to the iPad?

I am interested to know if there is an app available so I can use my iPhone4 to remotely control my 32g wifi ipads iTunes music and video library which I have connected to my tv and surround sound system????
I use my iPad in my car to entertain my child while driving and I would like to know if there is a way to change the movie he is watching (in the backseat) using my iPhone while I am sitting in the front seat? I think it would be great if I don't have to physically remove the iPad from its headrest mount to change to a different show.
I was wondering if there is a way to lock my iPad when it is too far from my iPhone?Like, if my iPad go out of my iPhone bluetooth range, it will instantly lock and the only way to unlock it is to bring it back into my iphone bluetooth range. (or passcode lock)and vice versa.
I would like to purchase an iPad for my mother. This will be the first time she will experience personal computing and the Internet, so I would like to make the transition as smooth as possible.Because my mother is new to this environment, she does not have an existing computer that would have iTunes loaded. I do not live close to her and do not have anyone that can support her locally. Would it be possible to have iTunes in the cloud that the iPad could connect to and I could maintain? If this is not an option, could the iPad remotely connect to my computer and access iTunes that way? Would it also be possible to gain remote access to the iPad while she views the screen? That way I can show her how to use the device and provide remote support.
I'm having problems getting this to work. Can anyone suggest a tutorial to set this up? It says I have a double NAT issue. I have and airport extreme set up with a guest account, is that the issue? Does that mean that I have to get rid of the guest network to accomplish this or is there a work around?
My family is buying an iPad for my 85 year-old grandmother and we'd like to be able to get pictures of her great grandchildren to her remotely without having to bother her with emailing, saving attachments from email to her photo app, etc.

I am writing in hopes regarding a lost iPad. The day of credit card compromised and cancelled this occurs on renewal anniversary unfortunately. In traveling lose iPad prior to data renewal. I have MobileMe account and it syncs with my iPhone with no problem every hour as I specified in my System Preference. With my iPad, the emails can go onto the iPad fine, but my iCal, Contacts, ...etc. won't sync even if I ask MobileMe to sync everything. The only way is to connect the computer and the iPad and everything sync up right away. Pls tell me where to find info on this.
Hi, i have recently purchased an IPad mainly for videos, music, books etc but i have started to look at how i can use it for work. One of the things i am trying to do is to access our sales database via VPN when out of the office. I have used the VPN settings from my laptop that runs windows XP pro and it is connecting to a Windows SBS 2003 server, i can connect using these settings fine but that is about it. When i try and access the database via atomic browser (using the firefox 3 setting) it comes up with the error message 'couldn't find host' When i access it in the office using the wifi network it works fine. The CRM database is called Accpac and is not the latest edition. I was told by our support company i couldn't access it anywhere as is only compatible with IE but i have managed to in the office but nowhere else.
When I help a friend of mine with his iMac I often take over his screen in iChat. That's incredibly useful and time-saving.Is there some similar way I can access his iPad - either from my Mac or my iPad - and see his iPad screen remotely and operate it
Hey everyone. Not sure if this is possible or not. When I am at home, I use NetAwake for wake-on-lan capabilities from iPad > PC. I have been using Splashtop Remote Desktop to access the PC.
This is great when I am on my network at home, but I was hoping for something that would allow me to wake my PC and access it when I am at work as well. I think logmein and iteleport would get the job done trying to access the machine, but what about any wake on lan functionality? I would prefer not to leave the PC running at all times if I dont have to.
My mother in law is getting an iPad and I'd like to be able to sync my photos to her iPad, without having to attach her iPad to my computer - i.e. I'd like to be able to do it remotely. Is there a way to do this?
I know Smugmug allows you to download pics to view offline on your iPad, but it doesn't work with the iPad Photo slideshow feature. I have a Smugmug and Mobileme account.

Spending a lot of time on the phone doing 'tech support', which is not easy when I don't own an iPad myself. Looking for an app that allows me to at least view the iPad screen remotely via pc/mac. Ideally, I'd like to be able to control it from my macbook so he could actually 'see' how to perform certain tasks. His iPad is not jailbroken, and I don't intend on jailbreaking it.
I have a 3G ipad and generally have little use for the 3G service, so I don?t keep it turned on every month (have WIFI everywhere I use it). Now, let?s say that I loose my ipad (or it?s stolen) in a month I don?t have the 3G data plan turned on. Of course, I?d want to track it with ?find my ipad? on mobileme. We know that the ipad needs a data connection to be found (and perhaps someone will have it on a WIFI network, but maybe not), so the question:If I have my Ipad?s sim card number, or even my account information with ATT from past months, can the ipad data service be turned back ON by calling ATT, and not having access to the ipad itself?
I was wondering if there is an App that gives me the ability to access my Mac while I am away/at work (through Wifi) and be able to download files, docs, etc?I have Goodreader, but it seems to only allow you to do this when you are on the same network or locally... and I know you can use something like Dropbox, but just want to be able to grab stuff off my Mac while on the road.
